Thanks, Bill. Was watching some of the CHL playoffs on NHL network. I'm jealous! I wish we had a CHL junior team around here. Those games are really good.

EDIT: Except the Petes. They look like they don't belong against the other teams.

Is that guy who said Laughton would never amount to anything when he got demoted to the AHL for his 22 year old season still posting here?

Drafted at #20. 22nd in scoring for that class. 24th in games played. I would say he is almost exactly where he should be.

Overall it was such a weak class.

And I have to say, the most "bang for your buck" pick in the draft was Gostisbehere. Picked 78th. 6th most points and 2nd among D behind Morgan Reilly who was picked 5th.

People also give Farabee a hard time even though he was picked 14th and has the 6th most points despite suffering a major neck injury. Only 2 points behind Kotkaniemi in 67 fewer games.

If you sort the 2017 draft by total points, two Flyer draft picks are ranked 20th and 21st.

so glad the young guys have Laughton and Couturier to watch and learn from

Laughton 100% gets it, on and off the ice. To me he's the Flyer who best carries the family attitude of the cup-winning Flyers teams

I was agreeing with you.

I like Scott Laughton but his skill level has never been his impressive trait. It’s always been about his work ethic. As for leadership, that’s what impressed me about him this season.

Kind of odd seeing NoPa have the 16 most games played to date and 19th most goals to date. Feels like he's been out of the league for a long time already.

Caps and Preds are hiring modern day young and innovative coaches in Carbery and Brunnette. We have Brontosaurus Tortorella.

Ahh, sorry.

Yeah, Ive been pretty clear on my position that every draft needs to be taken on its own. You can really only compare the success of a draft as compared to who was taken in the same draft AFTER your pick. People can complain about the Laughton pick, (and some do) but when you look at it, who would you have really picked instead of him? There are a few but it's not some cut and dry thing where you can point to this guy or that guy and say it was a bad pick after the fact.
