Want to bet Shanny's having a busy week-end.

Wonder if Hunter will reconsider the GM position since he got canned the last time

Shanahan doesn’t seem like the brightest bulb so nothing would surprise me.

Thinking someone just keep a watch on flights at YYZ and can see who comes in and when Treliving shows up.

So just to get up to speed,

Dubas lost his job due to self-proclaimed uncertainty and Shanahan avoided the axe yet again.

Leafs need a new GM asap, a good one, and one that is willing to step in immediately and deal with:

Firing the coach.
Hiring a new coach.

Matthews, getting one of the best players in the league, who maybe a Dubas/Spezza lover, to sign a new deal in a tight Cap era OR try to trade him for a worthy package all in front of a rabid fan base and under heavy media scrutiny.

Marner, trade or keep decision. Again, not an easy deal to pull off especially with TO media and fan base.

Nylander, trade or keep decision. Ditto.

Tavares, ask to wave a NTC or strip the C from or keep the status quo? Hard choices to be made here too.

Brodie, trade?

Samsonov, RFA, new deal or trade?

Crack Murray, WTF do you do with a fragile meth addict with $4.5M being wasted in a tight Cap era?

RoR??? Re-sign or walks? Might need him if Matthews moves, or slim chance, Tavares moves.

Schenn, Acciari, Kampf, Bunting, Gustafson, all UFAs.

And last but not least and the most pressing of all Justin Mutha(frank)ing Holl, how in the poop is a new GM gonna handle this decision?!?!

All of this while rolling up to the draft with 3 measly picks...or maybe a bunch more if major trades happen...and then figuring out what to do or how to build this team out with drafted players or trading draft picks for proven players?!

Quite a position to have to jump in to. This could be a spectacular summer for the Leafs or a catastrophic one. For some reason, I can't see anything in between. There's a lot to be done. Wow.

Dubas apparently believed he had leverage after he exhibited public angst over remaining in his role while invoking his family in a press conference his boss — Shanahan — suggested he not attend.

The GM — the former GM — apparently misread the room.

Seems I wasn't alone in my assessment of the Dubas press conference and the invocation of "family".

Oh no. No, Larry Brooks is never a reputable voice to backup your opinion. If Larry Brooks says what you said thats evidence to the contrary, every single time.

It would be very funny if the Leafs canned Shanny then turned around and offered Marner Prez and GM.

If Mitch might not be bad idea. Pay him league minimum as a player and 15 million as GM/President
