If I went beyond that, I would have had the old Coffee Talk call in number, 555-4444. New York, daughters, dogs, whatever, no big whoop.

Hello everyone, I've arrived from June 28th, 2023.

We had the 2nd overall pick and selected Adam Fantilli, C, Michigan.

I’m happy with any player in the top6 including Leonard and Smith (if the org has their board the same, likely not) besides Michkov. I’d come around to it though, so much talent there.
Too much risk for this team. We could use a low risk pick here, gotta hit.

6 picks in the top 2 rounds. This player is the cherry on top, so regardless our number I’m ok with it. But this player will be the centerpiece of the future, please smile upon this team and it’s compete hockey gods!
Would love Fantilli…

I believe we will be picking 4th and will select the Russian kid .I be ok with Benson there or Smith but think it will be the Russian and playing the long game .
I am still a bit upset with the meaningless wins that cost the best odds for Bedard Foolish

Somebody else here thinks the Hawks are picking 4th. Who was that?

Chicago gets the first pick and then trades it to Carolina.

I hope this turns out better than your last prediction (Drafting Dach) which you were correct about

If they get Bedard, great, but it's not the end of the world. They will get either Fantilli -Benson or Will Smith. Don't forget - they'll also have another first rounder around 20 and FOUR second round picks. They could build some serious depth through this draft.

It should be the most impactful draft we have for a decade in either direction.

Why draft a disappearing Fantilli when you can draft a Michkov who never appears at all?

I’m kidding but it is crazy how the consensus moved from Bedard/Michkov to Bedard/Fantilli.

You would think world events would not factor into drafting a hockey player, but here we are.

KD spent last year getting to ground-zero. Now that the team is at ground-zero they can start rebuilding properly. While the Hawks have 6 picks in the first two rounds I would expect that to change, at least the composition of 1st and 2nd rounders. I would be surprised if KD didn't add another first round pick, using 1-2 of the second round picks and/or taking on a bad contract.

It wouldn't surprise me to see KD trade the NY or Tampa 2nd round pick for a 2024 second round pick. Mostly to spread picks across multiple drafts.

With the Hawks first 1st round pick they'll get a major building block at #4. I don't think it will be Michkov, so it will likely be Carlsson, Benson, or Smith.

Hot Take: The Hawks will draft Michkov...with Tampa's pick.

If Michkov is still there at 20 (or 19), you run to the podium. Do not think he would slide past AZ (at least in the pre-lottery order).

Would love for the Hawks to add another 1st rounder, but cannot see from where. Of the teams who will be tight up against the cap next season, only Vegas (and they are $79 million on 21 players, so not really needing too much room unless they want to be big players in FA this year- then maybe NY's 2nd for the oft injured Alec Martinez and LV 1st? But Martinez has M-NTC) and maybe Winnipeg ($68 million with 16 players signed- but need to do major work) still have their first this year. Maybe if the blues think they can re-tool and be competitive we can get one of their 3 1st round picks + (everyone with any significant cap percentage is either signed to term or has NTC) for a 2nd round pick.

More than likely would be a 1st next year or 2025.

Kyle E. Coyote has almost caught the Roadrunner (Bedard). Will it happen?

Won't affect the Hawks in this draft, but if Toronto does indeed lose in this round, feeling many changes there. Surmise at least one of Matthews, Nylander, Tavares and Marner will be moved.

Hopefully, it'll weaken them enough that 25' first is near the top 10.

I’d rather not have them add a veteran defenseman at this time with a sweetener. I would much prefer forwards if taking on bad contracts, it’s time to matriculate a couple of dmen to the show. I would not touch the Russian with a 10’ pole, unless he was there at 19, then yes.

Tavares isn’t tradeable, unless they send two first round picks out with him.

The Panthers are the anti Davidson, they only have 3 players on the team that they drafted (Barkov, Lundel, Ekbblad). Everyone else is by trade or free agency..
