I think Skinner has a good a case as Matty Berniers does for sure.

Your point about the lackluster Calder talk is on point... unfortunately it also applies to Skinner.

Skinner has been good to great with only a few below average games... Not exactly a resounding endorsement for a trophy... He was as good as all the other "good" rookies.

Be a great/pleasant surprise if he won but with the eastern bias against the Oilers I would be shocked if he won.

So who would an Eastern bias favor? All the players that Sean listed were in the Pacific, Power maybe. I do have to say, Maccelli looked great in the games the Oil played the Yotes.

Ekholm starting to look like their best trade since Pronger. Turned them from a high offense, sub par defensive team into a serious Stanley Cup contender.

Holland hit this one out of the park.

Along with Kane, Hyman, Bjugstad, Kostin, Kulak and Janmark, Holland has really transformed this team from the mess left by Chia.

Convenient how you left out that awful Athanasiou trade, the abysmal Jack Campbell signing and the borderline retarded negotiating skills he displayed with the signings of Pullijarvii, Foegle , Yamamoto, Kassian and others.
I agree, he deserves a lot of credit for those signings you mentioned and the results speak for themselves , but let’s not pretend we have any sort of ability to improve in the off-season if we poop the bed in the playoffs ….thanks to some of Hollands signings.

Every GM makes some mistakes. Like you said, the end result is what matters. With the Vegas SO loss today, if the Oil win their last 2 and Vegas goes 1-1 we win the division and probably the entire Western Conference.

Offense, defense, PP, PK, goaltending all firing heading into the playoffs.

I wish I could remember which idiot on this site thought we overpaid for Ekholm and how he was past his prime.
