Korpisalo's goals saved above expected has been quite good this season on a bad CBJ team. He'll move into the top 10 in that category amongst goalies with 25 games played while playing behind better skaters in LA. My guess is he's signed, Copley is the back-up next year, and Petersen is bought out.

“According to other reports, Gavrikov is expected to look for other options in July, and Korpisalo is expected to do the same. For the time being, they are completely focused on assisting the Kings in making a deep playoff run.”

I’m gonna go with Copley and Peterson will be the goalies next year as the Kings will wait to long to try and keep these guys and miss the market completely.

LHD got a nice bump. In goal sorta yes but he’s not exactly an every day starter. He can prove it.

Quick will be highly motivated if VGK meets the Kings in the PO’s.

Where are these reports that these guys are testing free agency? I think Petersen gets bought out this summer unless the savings is marginal from burying him in ontario. His AHL numbers arent even better than Villalta's. LA needs to get out of and away from Petersen.

I just posted the quote from an article I read and it was pretty well known Gavrikov was always going to test this summer. That quote was the first I read that reports were Korpisalo was as well.

For the love of all that is holy: please no. I get it: it makes the most financial sense to keep Cal in the mix. But do we really want a replay of this year with the unpredictability? I don't and I'm not sure management does, either.

Blake has to retain atleast one of Korpi or Gavrikov. Or else this feels like the panic mode moves Lombardi made for Sekera and Lucic.

I really hope not but we have seen teams, especially the Kings, put all their eggs in one basket during the market and miss out. I’m Sure Blake knows who is going to be available so I hope he has a few back up plans.

I'm not exactly optimistic about Gavrikov re-signing, but it seems notable that the first thing that he said at his media availability after flying in was to give thanks to the organization for taking care of his family by helping them come to LA for his first game. Having a positive impression right from the beginning is a good sign.

As for Korpisalo, I think that he'll have to emerge as the starter and get all of the playoff games for him to re-sign. I doubt that he'll re-sign if it seems like he'll just split the net 50/50 with Copley next season.

It was a gamble Blake had to make. Without this trade, the Kings playoffs end after 5 games tops.

I get that, and if he chooses to be a starter, most likely it will be on a terrible team. most of the good teams have a solid #1 in place already.

and they've shown his wife and kid almost every chance they get. I'm hoping that she gets accustomed to LA and pushes him towards staying, even if he tests the market.
