An NHL contract can only have two teams retain salary. So Karlsson could go to Montreal to retain some and then to Edmonton. Can’t involve a third or fourth team taking money.
That’s why Ekholm and Chychrun are more desirable.. the cap hit can be way more controlled. |

I don’t Edmonton is gonna do anything big. The big name they need is not available, and overpaying salary and assets for a nice piece that doesn’t really fill the cornholes in the line up would be foolish. Maybe try for a not so big name but has tue specific skill set they need? |
