Color me crazy, but I don’t want to use cap space on Quinn Hughes. I’d much rather use it on a forward. We don’t really know how good Luke and Nemec will be defensively and from what I understand Quinn is average on his best day. Luke and Nemec can play offensive roles, not to mention Dougie is on the team for several years. It’s Meier or fire for me.

1) The Devils are 6 points back of Carolina, not 4. Guess someone can't just look at the standings and do a quick check before submitting an article.

2) While the MVP chants were nice, its very clearly McDavid who should win the Hart trophy as of right now. That's not the voters being "stubborn" and making the "status quo" pick. He's been the best player in the league and it hasnt been close. Jack himself even said McDavid is the clear MVP.

3) What about Miles Wood? He was dogpoop again last night, as was the entire BMW line. Again. They've been a boat anchor for a while now and are a major part of the reason the Devils get hammed in their own zone for big portions of games. Lindy continues to try to roll 4 lines and match them up against other teams top lines and they just get caved on a nightly basis. It's pathetic. Congrats on drawing 2 penalties, which has zero impact on the game. Wood and McLeod are awful at hockey, period. The (frank) are you praising him for.

People wait a month for new articles and this is the garbage you write for them?

Atleast you made a nice point in that Schenn would be an OK depth D add. Gotta get something right for once I guess.

Yeah I don't see a world where Fitz actually moves the farm for Quinn. It's only Ek reporting it though, so we all know what that means lol. I would like to make an add on the backend though, but just a depth guy who gives some defensive prowess into the mix. Schenn/Maatta/Walman/ect. Megna wouldve been a nice target too. Someone like that.

I’m VERY happy with the defense. No need to make any changes, trade for Hughes or add any veterans. For once in a long while, we have a strong defense and have a good pipeline of other D men coming up. Using assets to address a non-need is asinine IMO. Do better Sam, please!

I'm not sure why you guys are so upset. Everybody knows it's a GM's job to collect as many of the players with the same name as each other.

Jack Hughes is not practicing today. Taking a maintenance day for upper body soreness.

Back starting to hurt from carrying this team the last month and half I guess.

A Canucks reporter put out an article where he talked to Brock Boesers agent, and his agent says he's been trying to help the Canucks facilitate a trade and that hes been in talks with NJ and Minnesota.

Lots of smoke here, combined with the confirmation that Fitz has talked to his agent, makes it seem like Boeser may be the top target if Meier goes elsewhere.

I think they are just putting pressure on the Sharks by saying they will go a different route if needed.

Could be. Could also just be Fitz making sure he has other options in case he doesn't get Timo. The organizations interest for Boeser goes back multiple years, so it wouldn't shock me in the least if he is their deadline acquisition. He could probably be had for somewhat cheap, compared to to previous years too. Theres definitely smoke there though, seems pretty likely he's plan B or C.

I wouldn't be opposed to boeser if it's the right deal and he performs, and if we can get schenn in to replace him with Smith

I remember boesser turned it on a couple years ago when the nucks made the playoffs I think

Could have been horvat

But need someone who can put the puck in the net on the PP and someone to play on jacks wing

Who qualifies as prospects? Holtz?

I know we have Hughes and nemec as top tier prospects in our system

Sakhir muk apparently has impressed too but I don't think the level of nemec

Gritsyuk? Couple years

Who else?

He has our top 15 as:

Tier 1:
Luke Hughes
Simon Nemec

Tier 2:
Alex Holtz

Tier 3:
Seamus Casey
Shakir Mukhamadullin

Tier 4:
Arseni Gritsyuk
Akira Schmid
Kevin Bahl
Nolan Foote
Graeme Clarke
Chase Stillman(lol)
Topias Vilen
Nikita Okhotiuk
Josh Filman
Nico Daws

His 'honerable mentions'/considerations are: Daniil Orlov, Nikola Pasic, Samu Salminen, Daniil Misyul, Patrick Moynihan, Ethan Edwards, Artem Shlaine, and Jakub Malek.

I pretty much agree with his list. The only changes I'd make are Gritsyuk up and Mukhamadullin down a tier, swap Foote and Clarke, and Stillman either below Daws or not listed.

Jack Hughes is so good and so fun, but acting like McDavid for Hart would be “stubborn” is ridiculous. It’s McDavids world and we, including Jack, are just living in it.

Mcdavid has 30 (!!??!!) more points than Jack. Not even a debate. Should be unanimous.
