I am hoping the comments from Marchand talking about contracts and the Bruins sustained success is heard by Pasta. I have already been on the side of "Pasta will take a discount" but i feel like this is Marchand both taking a shot at the leafs and sending a message to Pasta.

I am surprised the deal isn't done yet.

What do you believe the discounted price will come in at?

Good game. If Leafs and Bruins meet in the playoffs it'll be a great series!

Well the Bruins are clearly a very good team, and the deserved favourite to win the Cup.
I thought for sure the team would show age related decline this year, and I was 100% wrong.

Don't be fooled, it's there. Just remember, the bruins are practicing at about 2/3 pace of last year. There are more breaks/non-practice off days. They are being deliberately preserved it seems and it's a smart play by Montgomery. They will need some subs come playoff time. The play and compete is there, but deep in the playoffs the endurance will be a question unless they can dispatch opponents quickly

If he stayed true to everything he has said publicly. About not playing hockey for money. He would sign in the ball park of what Mcavoy just signed.

I think he deserves more but that would be my benchmark. Earlier in the year i was hoping for 8.88 million to pull the Crosby move but since this is taking so long I don't see that happening anymore.

Huberdeau and Gaudreau are my comparisons. Over the last 5 years, those three are near identical in points. One signed for 10.5, the other signed for 9.8. Obviously, Pasta is a much more dynamic scorer than the two, but production wise they are quite similar.

That was a Direct Shot at the Leafs, This guy is a Media Superstar, it's too bad it's lost here in boston, the Interview he did after the morning skate in TO was priceless

Go listen to Kipper & Bourne for a great radio show, nothing like the crap around here
The B;s played Great. It was a Fun game to watch, imagine if we had 6-8 games in our division during the Year, it would be fantastic.

McAvoy's deal bought less UFA years so adjusting for that 10.5m would be a comparable contract.

Part of this is Pasta's agent. This is sort of his calling card. All the talk from actual insiders (not Eklund) is that the deal will get done. There is a balancing act here though. Pasta also has to consider the players union. Taking too much of haircut will have a backlash I imagine.

It pains me to say it, but it almost seems like Boston's year. It's starting to get a feeling of inevitability about it.

Which trade would you rather.

Boeser for Beecher, a pick and Craig Smith

Or

Chychrun for Gryz, 1st, prospect not named Lysell.

Chychrun for me, however neither of these trades sound great to me. Both are often injured and seem like a trap. If its a prospect not named lysell, then its probably lohrei.

Cheaper depth options is what I'm hoping happens. We will see what happens, I'm sure there is a lot of pressure to win this year so I could see trades going either way. Hopefully whatever happens isnt too disruptive to the machine. Its running fine, dont mess with it too much.

Yeah I would be fine with depth moves. These were just a few rumblings I saw. Luke schenn would be fine

The Rangers getting Tarasenko makes me re-think that stance. Carolina also targeting Ryan O'Reilly.

Standing pat might not be the play.

I'm all in on Schenn...cheap, rugged, and been there before (a couple of times).

I agree with acquiring Schenn. You can't have enough Dmen in the playoffs.

That wouldn't be a terrible piece. To clarify my before post, I wouldn't be mad about Chychrun and saying goodbye to Gryz (or Carlo) if thats the case. I would just worry about Chychrun's health.

I am also ok with a scoring forward for the third line. I would really like to see them move out smith and/or Reilly in a package if its possible but im not holding my breath.
