I’d like to see the Kraken face off against Vegas in round one, as the 2 seed (Vegas 3rd in the division). Kraken Canucks isn’t going to be a rivalry, but the two Pacific division expansion teams already have some history. A 7 game series would take that up a notch. The Oilers seem like they’re on a mission to take over first place and the Kings might be due to slip out of the top 8.
As far as the games coming before the break. New coach bump is certainly a thing, but the Canucks are dreadful defensively, 5-4 Kraken in an up tempo game.
They’ll need to lock it down more vs the flames, but we’ll probably see Markstrom (Vlad vs Hawks the night before) and he’s prone to give up goals in bunches.
CBJ is the trap game, last one before a week off, hopefully the players aren’t thinking of Margaritas and remain focused on the opponent. |

Seattle/Vegas would be a great rivalry.
The Canucks already have a rival. Themselves.
I hope the Kraken get their first victory against Vancouver tonight. |

After Friedman initially mentioned there might be some interest, due to cap space and having the assets to make the deal, the Horvat talk all but really died. Just because the Kraken could doesnt mean they would. Said all along depth D and a solid defensive player to shore up the PK and defensive side of things. Francis is patient.
I dont think there will be that much in change with Vancouver. Still AHL goaltending and shoddy d. If the Kraken stay focused and show up they should be able to take the game just fine.
The division is tightened up points wise. Edmknton has gotten hot on a bit of a run but needs to maintain it to make up ground. LA could be in trouble. If they slip out then thinking they might not even hold the wildcard long. Calgary hard to tell how they are going to go.
Kraken with 3/4 games in hand should be able to even at .500 stay in the top 3. Something nobody expected the start of the season at all. Honestly wven IF they crashed and burned its been a great ride and huge improvement over last season. Coming down the stretch now. Should be a great ride. |

Pretty much as expected on this one. Still time to go but honestly changing the coach isnt going to do a damn thing with that roster and having AHL goaltending.
Nice to see Bjorkstrand break out a bit with a pair.

Solid game. Special teams very good, played with pace and limited quality chances against. Going to need another effort like this on Friday against an actual NHL team. |
