Real head scratcher, sending Johnny Broadway down. I am sure they believe Blais would be claimed and they don't want to lose him for nothing.
As long as we continue to accumulate cap space --- I guess its all good...

It’s probably to do with them liking Jake in the 4C more than anything else. Let’s be honest, JBrod is a nice little story but he isn’t the answer for the 4th line.

The front office is probably just looking for something to click with certain guys and if not they’ll make deadline moves

The line juggling has to stop tho this is insane. I’m convinced they don’t want these kids contracts to get too high thus are not putting them in position to succeed right away. But for gods sake you may ruin them in the process

I think the absolute best place for Laf is back on the kid line. He played his best hockey on that line and playing with Zib did nothing for him. If he’s going to turn it around this season, this is the time to do it.

the Hajek thing is weird, but you have to have a 7th defenseman up here and at least he only makes 800k

ideally they'd recall Zac Jones or call up Matthew Robertson soon, make Harpur the 7th d-man and cut ties with Hajek once and for all though

Drury doesn’t want to cut bait on Blais. Holding on to something that doesn’t exist. Brodz played better than him

Idk I’d be surprised if he isn’t moved by 3/3, just for salary dump purposes. Like Nemeth and Reaves were. Drury needs to bite the bullet on the deal, he got burned it is what it is

Vince Z. Mercogliano

@vzmercogliano
Gallant said he let Kreider & Panarin decide who would move to RW.

"Kreids likes LW, but I can see him coming down that right side with some speed... On your off wing, when you get that puck in the middle of the ice, he can duck that shoulder down & beat defensemen wide."

Can this guy just make a decision that isn’t just moving lines around

I think the Kreider, Trochek, Vesey line is a solid line, its perfect for all 3 because they play similar style of hockey. It becomes a very annoying line for opposing teams to deal with.

Panarin, Zib and Kakko is a solid line. Panarin loves to playmake and pass, Zib is your shooter and Kakko is your possession, power forward guy who will go to the corners and get in front of the net.

That leaves LAF, Chytil, Krav... could be a good line, but it will need time to marinate.

But that would make too much sense for GG.

I don’t think Vesey should be in the top 9.

There was some pretty decent chemistry there, so I consider it an exception. However we really dont have much other options for that slot. Maybe Gaut with his speed, but I feel he doesnt have the vision to click with that line.

What are the Canucks seeking in return for Horvat?

Sportsnet's Jeff Marek reported Saturday night on the "Hockey Night in Canada" broadcast that the Canucks want "three players, including a top prospect."

Even if we got him, I dont know if we could resign him.

This may be one of those situations that I feel people would be ok with trading Chytil. However I also think it might cost us Othmann. Although if my memory serves me right, when these talks were going on last year, Vancouver really wanted a RHD and their fans wanted Schneider in a deal for Horvat

....and he scores for Hartford tonight while still wearing the C. For $760K, surprised no one took a flier. Not a great player but a solid enough fourth line center who can play the PK at the league minimum.

I love othmann but it seems like his numbers have slowed down after picking up where he left off last season . Wonder what that’s about
