Well, Wodsie…maybe Morgan is not quite in game shape yet, or he’s bored of professional hockeying for the Toronto Maple Leafers |

Excellent.
I like Morgan.
Wish he would’ve gone off on someone last night though. Get rid of some pent up frustration. |

I think this topic comes up from time to time and it gets buried every time when Reilly is Reilly.
He is not a Hedman,Josi and he is paid no where near like one. If anything the Leafs are suffering without Brodie and quite possible he was playing injured.

I swear he’s good every other year. Lol
I liked the comment someone made last night about giving Reilly the easier minutes. |

From the last blog...
We need to roll out a lineup that's more conducive to how we play.
As much as I liked Simmer fighting, entertainment aside, it really had no impact on the game at all; both those guys were non-factors for the most part.
This is our best lineup we've iced so far this season:
Bunting Matthews Nylander
Yarncrook Tavares Marner
Engvall Kampf Kerfoot
Hunt Holmberg Hyphen
Rielly Brodie
Gio Holl
Sandin Lilybust
There is enough grit and jam on that 4th line for what we do and overall, that's the best bottom 6 we've iced in years and years.
We're better when we don't get into the antics and just play high-pressure possession hockey. Bunting is the only one who's going to engage, but he's on a line with guys that don't, so it usually doesn't escalate.
I probably would've played Benn last night and Timmins in DET; Benn is a more reliable anchor to Rielly than Timmins is and Rielly just doesn't make his partners better like other 1Ds.

Hard without Brodie.
Holl and 40 year old Gio can only do so much against top comp.
Lil and sandin are great but still shouldn't be playing heavy mins yet(Lil is trending that way though)
Makes me wonder if they add a D. |

I disagree about the bottom 6. I think it has some nice pieces but is incomplete right now. Dubas likely adds 2-3 players this deadline so guys like Hunt and ZAR are probably 13th-14th forwards which is where they should be for playoffs.
Kampf, Kerfoot, Engvall, Holmberg. Need to improve the last 2 spots. Sliding Jarnkrok down would help if they add a top 6 F. Then one more good physical bottom 6 player is in order.
Leafs have an opportunity here to really fill out this team, one of the better built teams we have had in a long time. We are just left wanting more from some lines some nights and that can be fixed with some trades.
I mentioned Bjugstad...underrated player this year and you spend a 3rd on a guy like that all day. top 6 and also a physical D that doesn't cost you much would leave me happy. |

Kind of predetermined that after giveaways by Rielly, Timmins and JT that led to goals, Rielly is the point of discussion. The other two were worse. None should have happened. |

I did not like the Rielly-Timmins first pair, on the road in Boston. Not Keefe's best moment there.
Last night's game showed once again that you have to virtually play mistake free hockey to beat the Bostons and Tampas of the world. We gifted them all four goals last night. You're not going to beat these teams if you beat yourself. As a poster said last night - a good effort wasted. |

It’s a very mild wheat beer, which was made popular in North America because women liked to drink out of the fancy glasswear that beer reps supplied to bars and restaurants. |

Some context is needed. Where the giveaways brain cramps or caused by pressure or lack of support .. time of game and situation need to be considered.
Leafers actually played very well with AM just getting back and not a full complement of D. They had multiple good looks and chances.
It's just that the smallest of details or lack of attention there of is what that 1st round series against Tampa is gonna come down to.

The Rielly one was when JT and Bergeron were fighting for the puck, Rielly got to it, tried to pass to Timmins and Bergeron got a stick on it allowing Marchand to intercept it.
Timmins just made a completely unnecessary and dangerous play.
JT made a mistake he doesn’t normally make - a bad pass in the neutral zone resulting in the Bruins coming back and scoring.
Overall, Timmins showed the limitations of a guy who’s played something like 55 games.
On the flip side, the Sandin-Liljegren pairing looked really good. |

Yeah, a top six moves The Krok to the 3rd line and probably Engvall to the 4th bumping Hunt or ZAR. Another 4th line add would bump the other.
If you’re going to add a physical D, it has to be someone who can replace Holl and not just be a physical guy in the press box.

Better than the guy who put $1.4M down in the Chargers when they were up 27-0 for $11,200 return.

That’s a possible 0.8% return on investment.
He could have put the money in a short term investment for a few months and made more. With zero risk.

I really don't see Dubas shaking up the roster like he has. We have had a lot of pieces moving in and out already this year. Engvall and Holmberg have played well on their respective lines, I don't really think it makes sense to move a bunch of bodies out for a pile of question mark guys.
