Been saying it for years, even when he was struggling in his first two years. Jack is going to be the first 100 point player in Devils history, and he's going to do it more than once.

Now go get him a damn goal scorer to play on his wing, too many games where he sets up 3, 4, 5 grade A opportunities for his linemates and nobody buries it.

Jack Hughes is a superstar. Going to be the best offensive player we've had in franchise history.

Always saw Hughes more as a playmaker but right now he is like (frank) it no one else is doing it, I will score 1v5

Whats that 17 goals in last 19 games or something crazy like that

That's ovechkin numbers (obviously not shot or type of game)

It's pretty remarkable how quickly he's improved his shot. I don't think many would've said Jack's a 40 goal scorer type of player but he's doing that right now. If he had anybody that could bury a puck he'd have so many more assists too. Impressed how he's carried this team during this stretch even though we've lost a lot.

It’s reminding me of the year Hall won MVP.
Would be a huge boost and probably shut up the doubters, well for a little bit anyways.

After we miss the playoffs his request to be traded to Vancouver will really sting

I think the doubters are already shut up. Anybody still doubting or poop talking him are either 1)incredibly stupid or 2)just trolling. The kid is a full blown superstar already and is nowhere near his peak yet.

Just wait until Lindy figures out he can put Palat on Jack's line.

I've lost all faith in Lindy actually being able to put together an optimal lineup lol. Maybe he'll shock us at some point before the season ends.

It's funny because last night in the 3rd when we needed a goal he moved Shara up with Jack and had Haula play 3rd center which was really effective. I don't know how many games you need to see to understand that Haula is defensively competent against better competition at the cost of being offensively incompetent. When he's deployed as a third liner he will just produce more against lower comp. Or you can have him with other defensively capable linemates and play up against tougher comp well. This experiment has just gone on way too long for it to be anything other than bad coaching.

The only thing I can really see is, while it has gone on too long, we haven't had secondary scoring since the beginning of the season

Shara is cold
Boqviat hasn't had a point in forever
Zetts is quiet

Hopefully shara will be able to get his shot off but he is very streaky

But I agree the haula experiment has ran it's course
If they want him in for defensive faceoffs when it's late in game with Hughes out there that's fine to win the faceoff but shouldn't be stapled to Hughes line

You're definitely right, but it doesn't help to have a line of Boqvist/Shara/Holtz when they are all complimentary players and they don't get to play with your top guys. It's also clear that Wood/McLeod were being carried by Bastian as they've been useless since he's been injured.

Shara kills penalties so it's not like they don't think he's good defensively. It's just only that he doesn't win faceoffs so Haula is stuck to Hughes. It just doesn't make sense.

When Hughes hits 115 pts next season on Vancouver it’s going to be epic

I know this won't happen because Vancouver only acquires 30+ year old 3rd liners with contracts of 4 mil or more.

Who cares what Quinn Hughes does? He doesn't play for the Devils! I'll doubt he'll get 100+ points, anyway!

Also, stop being so negative!

Whenever his Michigan season ends, so early/mid March at the earliest depending how far of a run Michigan makes. Their regular season ends February 25th, but then they have the Big 10 tournament and possibly a deep run in the NCAA regionals and the Frozen Four after, which runs all the way through April 8th if they go all the way.

Wood just got hurt, was down in a ton of pain. Couldn't put any pressure on his leg getting off the ice.

Wouldn't it be nice if he was out all year, freeing up 3 mil in Cap to get a legit winger.

Sucks to say, because you don't want to see someone get hurt, but it's definitely a net positive to the team if hes out of the lineup.

Lines in practice today:

Tatar-Nico-Bratt
Sharangovich-Jack-Mercer
Palat-Haula-Boqvist
Zetterlund-McLeod-Holtz

Same D pairs, Bastian skating as the extra with Bahl.
