Wondering if anyone will come off IR and what the lineup will look like tonight. Tough matchup for us penguins are playing some good hockey.

Sounds like Nelson will be back. Heard that he was taking regular line rushes this morning.

According to Gross cizikas is back and looks like he’ll be on Pageau’s wing. Guess they’re going to give Raty another game as fourth line center. I like it.

As per NYI Hockey Now

All members of the Injured Reserve party were not on the ice. Only Kyle Palmieri and Cal Clutterbuck are skating, as Adam Pelech and Semyon Varlamov have not yet.

Brock Nelson, who was injured during the Islanders’ 5-1 win over the Florida Panthers, was on the ice along with Casey Cizikas, who was day-to-day after suffering an injury last Thursday against the New York Rangers in the 5-3 loss.

Head coach Lane Lambert said both are game-time decisions, but after speaking with the players, they are ready to go.

Simon Holmstrom, who was also injured Friday night after getting hit in the knee, is day-to-day.

Forwards Aatu Räty, Hudson Fasching, and defenseman Parker Wotherspoon were on the ice, as their transactions to the Bridgeport Islanders were merely paper transactions.

All three will be in the lineup.

Thoughts on acquiring ERIK GUDBRANSON? Not sure what his cap hit is but he will clear the front of the net. Not sold on AHO....Salo needs to marinate more.

I changed my mind...VLADISLAV GAVRIKOV, 3 years younger and a UFA, with good numbers. Might be able to get him for picks and prospects. Plus he is a lefty to slot in for AHO or Salo...When pelech comes back...slot him in for Salo/ Aho.

Gavrikov would be an excellent addition. Expensive to acquire though.

Gudbranson is a steaming vertical pile of vastly overpaid garbage. Avoid at ANY cost.

Hopefully the teams performance sways me back in the other direction but I’m more aligned with doing nothing right now. I can’t see giving up anything significant to try and fill in some holes. This team had needs before we got hit with injuries. Now if they start performing to the level we know they can and Pelech can get back in the lineup within a month then you look to make some moves imo.

As am I.

If anything, I’d rather just play the kids. Most of them have been seasoned in the AHL long enough.

Kind of a forced situation with the injuries but I’m getting the impression that Lameriello may be thinking along the same lines. If we’re middle of the pack the end of January as far as playoff position is concerned then you consider making some moves imo. Right now I wouldn’t give up anything unless it’s a long term benefit kind of move. Wouldn’t consider giving up our first right now unless it fits that criteria as far as the return.

So who will win tonight HB GM’s?
The old and slow non talented Islanders or the slow and old washed up Penguins?
