Crazy that we all wanted to trade him for a bag of pucks a few years ago.

Tage Thompson was tracking to be a forgotten prospect from the Ryan O’Reilly trade. Nothing spoke to being a top six player, let alone one of the favorites for the Rocket Richard Trophy. His rise has been tremendous.

A quick google says:

"Draft Projection: His size, strength, footwork and shot give NHL scouts plenty of reason to believe his ceiling is extremely high. "

"If he can mature physically and grow into his frame, he should make a solid first or second line winger at the NHL level."

"If you’re looking for a physical, power forward, Thompson isn’t it. He’s not a physical presence, and in fact could really stand to improve his ability to win battles. He doesn't necessarily shy away from contact, but he certainly doesn't initiate, and that's something he could work on to shift the flow of play into his team's favour. However, if you’re looking for a quality sniper, a lethal power-play threat, and a potential penalty killer at the NHL level who has room to grow, Thompson may very well be a first-round target."

Seems like he was projected pretty high.

No doubt Dylan Cozens and the kid line will match against Sid and co. Keep and eye on Cozens, and let me know what ya think. I call him a baby Bergeron. OMW to the show now. Friday night and there's gonna be some goals tonight!

Jarry saving our asses so far. Slow start against the BJ's is one thing, but Buffalo is an entirely different story right now.

This is probably the worst I've seen them play since that 7 game losing streak... Zuckers brain is somewhere else so far it seems...

He and Rutta are brutal together.

To be fair no one is on the ball right now

Besides Jarry

But they're not brutal together ... Their underlying stats have been pretty dman good since November 1st..dumo has bend 2nd and 3rd in a lot of stats. I did a big post about this in the last blog.

Dumos underlying are better than Marinos since November 1st.

You’re watching this game right? They’re turning it over multiple times per shift in our end.

Everything good from that period came on the backs or Archibald and McGinn. Archy forces a Dahlin turnover that ends up on SIDS stick going the other way. McGinn forces a Dahlin turnover then draws the penalty. Maybe against the good teams those guys could get more of a look.

Now that Jarry kept us in that 20. Maybe this will be the 20 we play.

Fancy stats don't show things like Rutta nearly scoring on Jarry off Rak's skate, or that pair instantly killing all the momentum of a dominant PP by getting pinned in our zone for an entire shift.

They shot 14 shots into Sabre’s players shin pads and gave them a huge momentum boost. Hardly a dominant power play.

You didn't say brutal together tonight, you said brutal together. I already said this is the worst I've seen the team play since the losing streak. They are included in that.
