You think Sutter will even put him in the lineup or give him more than 5 minutes a game if he does? |

I hope so. I think we will for sure see him on power play. |

Rooney on waivers is good news. $1.3M was way too much. If unclaimed, he'll be a good asset for the Wranglers. Our 4th line needs better players. |

Colombus is probably a good game for Phillips to get in on. How sweet would it be to see him run over JG. |

Bad signing right from the get go. Now sit Lucic for a while. Guy blows this year. |

I like Trevorโs suggestion that he may get some powerplay time.
I remember when we had that rookie D from Nova Scotia that was brought in as a powerplay specialist. Didnโt take long and he was holding the Conn Smythe, proclaiming he was going to Disneyland!

Thought that signing had Sutter's finger prints all over it. Bring in a veteran depth guy and put him in front of the young guys trying to break in. There are 4 or 5 guys in the organization that can bring what Rooney does. |

I have to agree. Youth brings so much more excitement to the bench. Old married guys get stale after a while.
Where do you think MP slots in when he gets a chance? |

I get it though. Make the young guys earn it. I am sure Rooney was told he would have to outplay the young guys or he would be sent down. |

Put him on the 4th line and get Lucic to be his fullback. |

It makes zero sense to put him in the lineup now unless someone is hurt. The top 9 are finally starting to look good. The top line looks good, Dube and Mangiapane are starting to produce, Coleman is going. There isn't a spot for him unless he's taking Lucic's spot, and he's not going to succeed with Lewis and Ritchie.
The last time Sutter messed with the lines for no reason caused them to free fall. Ruzicka has been pretty up and down recently so maybe he could use a game in the press box, but he keeps producing so it's hard to sit him. Sutter has also taken every opportunity, including last week, to poop all over the AHL players when asked about them. |

Maybe try him in the top 6 for a few shifts and 2nd PP ? He's a skilled guy, so he needs to play with other skilled players. I doubt Sutter will give him a regular shift...unless he shows something right away. I'd like to see him with Huberdeau for a few shifts...see if there's any chemistry.

The FAN was speculating Zahorna could be promoted too as he was held out of the Wranglers practice today. He has centered Phillips and Pelletier so maybe the 4th line is Phllips, Zahorna and Lewis and Luc and Ritchie watch.
The 4th line has been a disaster lately so experimenting there is low risk. |

Backland and Ruzichka should play with Phillips on 3 rd line then he plays pp 2 |

You really think Sutter is going to play a 4th line like that more than 5 minutes a game? |

Ruzicka has 15 pts in 16 games and is a plus player. Give him more time and I'm betting he becomes a top 6 in the next few years. He's got the size and that is something the flames need. |

On the 4th line with Lucic and Lewis at morning skate. Maybe he can get Looch his first of the season. |
