You don't get to trade away Horvat due to lack of cap space when you keep paying Boeser like a goal scorer just because 5 years ago he was hyped to be one. Modern day Dmitri Khristich and nothing more. Now if Horvat said he won't re-sign, fine, get assets for him. But cap space? Not a valid excuse.

Timo may be a good look for NJ but the devils don't have much cap space and while they have some money coming off the books and cap increase they will still need to sign bratt and fitz stated he won't be going for a rental

the Isles had a deal in place that fell through at the last second. they were sending picks Beau and Bailey. After the deal was nixed they went after Romanov. I would let Romanov go in a second with the above mentioned players for him if it was possible.

How is the Kane situation like Marty St.Louis? Kane is a UFA with a NMC. The NMC allows him to have a say in if and where he is traded. But he hasn't said anything publicly. So he hasn't painted Chicago in a corner.

St.Louis also wasn't a UFA. He had another year on his contract. I did enjoy seeing him join NYR and score just 1 goal in 19 games. The following year he barely put up 50 points and then retired.

Because its the best place to play in NY, that's why. Want proof? Ask Panarin. Isles offered him more $$$, he said "no thanks" and signed to be a Ranger!

Habs management should already be in sell mode now, move players for picks/prospects Andy, Allen, Eddy, Matheson, Gally, Savard, Monahan and a bunch more could all fetch 1st rounders and quality prospects. Play the kids, lose games and let them learn. They are only a few points from the basement with lots of runway left a top 3 pick and loading up going into this heavy draft should be their goal. Florida right now on the outside looking in could give them another ball in the lottery. Ain't no way Kent and Gorto don't capitalize on this opportunity. Strong draft this year could really set them up with another strong one in 2023.

there are also zero arenas with more history. but i suspect it also has something to do with the fact the Rangers are a great young team.
