Weak article! Who agrees? |
|
|
|
You were only worried about your job after the salary cap eh?
When the Sens put Josh Norris on LTIR (as they're expected to do) I guess this article will be updated? |

LTIR is not a loophole but no surprise that Ek has no clue how the salary cap works. |

If a team can sustain placing a player on LTIR until the postseason instead of bringing him back, then they deserve to "circumvent" the cap until the postseason. |

Also, yeah, they have a bunch of LTIR space, but they can't actually eat into Pacioretty's since they expect him back around December/January.
So it's there if they're desperate for it but it's not all that useful as it currently stands. |

You realize teams still need this space when their guys come back right? So they can’t just go out and spend that cap. - TurdFergeson
Carolina has $8.6 million in LTIR space!
Yeah but they can only actually use another 1.4 million of that or they're (frank)ed. |

I am very skeptical of his return this season. |

It’s long term injury relief. Not reserve. |

We'll see I guess. If he's actually toast then they have a lot of room (and a lot of draft picks) to play with at the deadline. |

If they are comfortably in a playoff spot in January, I'd shelf him until the postseason. CAR is probably good enough to pull this off. |
