I hate to admit it, but Shady character may have something there. Gibson is seeing more rubber then Jenna Jamieson. I would bet he asks for a trade! Peterson's play does not seem to be making his pay grade....Trade him, Lizzotte ( I say Lizotte because his cap hit is perfect) and a 3rd for Gibby. Resign Quick for another year or 2 as BU at $2M AAV.

Completely unrealistic. There is no market for Cal Peterson, least of whom are the Ducks who are probably itching to play Stolarz and call-up Dostal. Gibson is not worth his cap hit. He's in decline. Sure, it might be that he needs a fresh start, but that's an awfully big risk considering his cap hit for 5 more seasons. Finally, no way the Ducks trade Gibson to the Kings.

OK, good reasoning. The cap plays hell with any trade right now.
But if you could trade Petterson for lesser paid but competent goalie, it should be done. And Anaheim could elect tank mode just to get a shot at Bedard, Michkov, or Fantilli.

I just have no idea who'd take Peterson for 3 seasons at 5mm AAV. Even with 50% retained, you're looking at having to add a pick/prospect to the deal. Kings are better off sending Peterson down to Ontario to work on his game and bring up Copley.
