Carol Schram: Canucks hope a little home cookin' will deliver their first win of the year As the only team in the NHL without a win so far this season, the Vancouver Canucks will look to change that when they host the Buffalo Sabres for their home opener at Rogers Arena on Saturday night.

Buffalo -1.5

For bonus prediction, Bruce there he goes chant by halfway point of 3rd period.

This is basically another road game. Fans will be on edge and turn on the home squad quickly with all this buildup.

Funny how teams get rid of talented players, but bad apples, and they get better. Buffalo looks much improved. I think the Canucks organization could learn something from this. #Millermustgo

Can’t believe they got tuch. Amazing get. He looked ready to breakout in vegas’ expansion year but had so many ahead in depth chart. He just keeps getting better.

Well done Carol thank you.

Hopefully the big W tonight at home starts things in the right direction.

We need a big save or two from Demko if we have the lead and not the Luongo flop like we saw in OT vs Minny.

Nice to see the refs show up in the third and OT of the Minny game however

Let's go boys!! Big W!!

He looks really good. Rough tough in your face talented winger every team can use.Being a Buffalo boy doesn’t hurt either.

Ya we need Demko to take over a few games, build some confidence. Our defence is embarrassingly bad though.

Rasmus Dahlin looks really good this year too. Hard to believe he’s only 22 years old and will be all season with an April birthday.

Rutherford probably thinking BB said he had an outstanding year after he came aboard with the current group of players, so he’s saying, ok, prove you can do it again with this group….so far he’s failing and about to get fired

Ummm, WTF is this supposed to mean?

Jack Eichel, excellent player but a bad apple. Buffalo is a better team without him. Just like the Canucks would be a better team without Miller.

How is giving credit to Bruce when he does good and criticizing his bad start a flip flop? That's just dealing with the facts...

Here's a good example of a flip flop... goes more or less like this...

Before camp...

"Now that Green is no longer here, under Bruce this team will get off to a good start"

Team gets off to a poor start...

"I said all along this team would have a Green type slow start under Bruce"...

Agreed. However we need the Demko of last year stealing games when we need it and making a few timely saves after getting a lead. Haven't seen that version of him yet he looks a bit slow and mentally fragile with the lead. I'm pretty sure he's not a full on choker like Lou but time will tell lol. But yes the D needs to step up as well.

Not enough. I've re-calibrated, all good now. Time to plant some bulbs and transplant some lillies. Enjoy another mass shooting in your neighbourhood.

I have no problem with being wrong. I was right there beside you when you were claiming a full season under Bruce blah blah blah. Now that the season is starting poorly and we are already measuring how far the Canucks have to catch up to the teams in the wild card spots, I'm being critical of him among other things and admitting I was wrong about how this team would start without Green. You on the other hand can't admit you got the Bruce start wrong and just rewrote the past.
