Schmidt has a 10-team no trade list (which Winnipeg was on once before). I highly doubt learning French is on an American-born player’s to-do list, so I can’t see him accepting a trade… even if the pieces were in place for Chevy to do it. I’m aware the majority are bilingual, but I’ve been there as a visitor and wouldn’t want to live there. No offence to the French-speaking Canadians, just bit my cup of tea!

Schmidt is also from Minnesota and has a place there, gotta think he'd prefer to be close to home over some other locales.

With his cap hit, trade protection and term remaining there's little chance of Schmidt being traded anytime soon.

Apparently the D pairs will be:

JoMo-Pionk
Dillon-Schmidt
Samberg-DeMelo

Ehlers is a game time decision, Gagner moves up if Ehlers can't go and Fjallby draws in with Menalanen and Gus, if Ehlers does play Fjallby is on line 4 with Gus and Gags, Menalanen is scratched.

Lines 2 and 3 remain the same.

This is kind of what I thought (hoped) might happen. Samberg in for Stanley, and AJF in the line-up. We need some "get up and go."

Whatever, the Jets won't win unless they outwork the Avs. Captain Obvious here!

With Ekblad out in Florida on LTIR, could Florida be a welcome destination for Schmidt, with PoMo being a Schmidt fan?

Great forward depth the Jets have that 1 injury means that a 33 year old free agent with a min contract gets the bump to the first line.

DeMelo on 3rd pair makes sense. I don’t mind him but he has been awful this year with some horrible giveaways

Trading Schmidt if even possible will get you nothing in return instead trade Pionk to Florida they're desperate enough to give up Denisenko for him.

Agree. He often looks like a deer in headlights.

I just can't see anyone touching Schmidt's 3×$5.90M contract.

I'm good with trading Pionk. I don't feel he has played up to his normal level this year - two games. Guess that could easily turnaround.

But Denisenko? No thanks! Need more IMO.
