Chytil has won over 55% of his faceoffs this preseason. Hope that’s real |

I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed that Cuylle didn't show more in camp, but its OK --- time is on his side and he will get top minutes and experience in Hartford.
Othmann is going to be a STAR player if he continues on his current trajectory. Hate to see that he has to go to back to Juniors, but its the rules. Hopefully he can stay healthy and grow his game even more.
As for the 4th line:
Rydahl has shown much more to me than Carpenter. He should be the center.
I have always been a big fan and supporter of Gauthier. However, he just seems to have hit his ceiling and he is not going to become much better. I would send him with Brodzinski back to Hartford. If he gets claimed off waivers --- so be it.
Vesey has been the surprise of camp and I think he has earned his spot. He is one winger.
Blais is the other winger. Reaves can be the 13th forward and play as needed when we play the more physical teams.
This 4th line represents a decent improvement over last season and I think our team is set up for a real good, entertaining season. How do I know this 4th line is better? Hunt is not on it! Him not making the team out of camp shows that we are better! |

This is my current roster construction as well. Wonder if Hunt/Gauthier have any trade value. Solid players on cheap contracts. Could still see Gauthier putting it all together one day and having a good career. |

hopefully this Panarin-Trocheck-Kravtsov thing actually gets some quality time together before this pre-season is over |

I'm hoping with the cuts that have been made they'll start trying to get a more set line up the last two pre-season games, I don't think Bread/Tro/Krav have skated together yet in a game, would be nice to see what they can do in live action.

I love how people obsess over the players on PP2 when it gets at best 30 seconds on a powerplay when PP1 doesn't score |

They should keep that line together for a bit. Kravs does not really fit any where else on the roster except there or potentially with mika and zib |

Im not the least bit surprised by Vesey, when they gave him a PTO I had a feeling hed have a great ahot to make the team. Hes not what we thought we’d get when we drafted him but hes still a very solid hockey player.
I wonder if they send Othmann back to OHL with an agenda to play more RW. I wonder if thats something Drury/management could ask of them. |

I am kind of wondering why Vesey hasn't been officially signed yet

Asking for too much dough? Not as though any other team is knocking at his door. |

I think another team would be able to swoop in and sign him right now if they wanted to, I don't think him being on a PTO with the Rangers precludes another team signing him |

The keep trying Goodrow and Blais on 1st line, Vesey I think deserves a shot there. I think hes more skilled offensively then both of them. Its not saying much but if thats what GG is perferring right now at the top, might as well give Vesey a look. |

I like Vesey being back but I'm certainly not advocating him to become the first line left wing
Im still hopeful Lafreniere finds his way there

Im definitely not advocating for it, but Im suggesting if theyre looking at Blais and Goodrow, why not look at Vesey. It wasnt that long ago that CK, Zib and Panarin shared a locker room together with him. The familiarity thing could work. |

I jokingly said that the other day. Vesey doesn't have the skill to play on the top line. |

Vesey always had good training camps. I always liked his work ethic, rarely ever takes a shift off. Dude just cant finish. He would be fine in the bottom 6. |

I think your assessments are being affected by Blais getting hurt so early last season. He displayed far better hands and vision than Vesey ever has. And I would opine that he's ahead of Goodrow in that respect as well. None of them are All-stars, but... |
