For much of the game, it looked like the Canadiens might just snatch their first win of the preseason but the penalty killing units’ shortcomings mixed with Ottawa’s PP prowess led to an OT defeat.

I am already done with the pre-season.

I get why thye had such a large training camp - wanted everyone in the organization to get a feel for the new management / philosophy / direction.

And I get they need to keep player for the last 4 games, given there is a 4 games in 6 days (the last 2 on the East Coast). But seems to me they could have planned this a little better...

I just want them to start trimming down the roster and lines being somewhat settled.... Currently looks like Dadinov/Dvorak/Gallagher, and (likely) Pitlick/Evans/Armia, and (probably) CC/Suzuki/Anderson. Not sure where the other forwards fit... and who sits out, with Dach, Hoffman, Monahan, Drouin, and Pezetta left for 3 spots.

Unless there is a flurry of trades, don't see how any rookie forwards make the team.

agreed. I think they'll waive Pezzetta and send him to Laval. with Slafkovsky and Mesar.

Great review of the game last night, Mme. H, with a few bright points on offense, in general the forwards were invisible last night.
Noticable, and not in a good way: Hoffman was God awful. Commentators made the point of him sharing his "veteran experience" to the rookies, and I just pray they took everything he told them and promptly forgot it. Hoffman has a nice snipe, good release. That's it. He was thinking he was Santa last night because we had giving up the puck to EVERYBODY.
Drouin was just simply invisible. I think I heard his name mentioned in play twice.

Hats off to Primeau, he made a number of great stops tonight. But an overwhelming amount of ineptitude by the rest of the team (minus a few gems like Guhle, Gallagher...) simply sunk the team.

I decided to avoid mentionning some of the vets. even if they are useless, preseason games are not for them. we watch for the kids.

He's been invisible for the last few years ... can't wait until we get rid of that soft floater.

He's a waste of a roster spot ... play the kids instead, at least they show up.

it was his first game in over 6 months.
still, you are right

that's why I don't pay too much attention to vets in preseaon games. they play to find their game, nothing to prove. doesn't change the fact that him Hoffman and Armia are totally useless.
sometimes I wonder if Hughes won't waive all 3.

Maybe less teams, people that actually want to play, but bigger rosters to compensate? Unless we can get 16 owners that want to play.

Last year there were at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the teams that never changed their rosters.

Just an idea.

Our line ups should be the size of a roster. Just need to decided bench size

yeah, don't wanna run into a case where waivers are the deciding factor each week, too.

Anyways, looking forward to it.

Drafting my regular league next week.

nothing much

I did a hockey pool today at the bar

The girl who said I was a friend is dating a douche bag now and it's look I can't be friend with her now and I have to move on

It was a big waste of time, but should be easier for me to do so now.

I wouldn’t see it as a waste of time, but more of a learning experience..
