It's been years since we've been on the cusp like this. So many guys in their 2nd-4th seasons. Jack Hughes just turned 21 lol. Will Blackwood be back to form? Endless questions, but if the answers are positive, this is a playoff team.

Caps are missing Backstrom and Wilson for months; Boston is without Marchand, McAvoy, Grzelcyk for months; Tampa lost McDonagh and Palat; Pens have weaker D than last year; Hurricanes lost Trochek and Pacioretty has the achilles..

Devils should be able to steal a few more wins from these teams than last season. Playoffs isn't impossible.

outside of some systems stuff and a few of the bottom-tier players, our guys really don't look sluggish. I know we have a lot of young players trying to make the team, and then half of the starting roster is under 24.. so it's not like they're a bunch of guys in their 30s trying to get back to NHL speed.
