Last game featured mostly regulars, this one is almost all guys fighting for spots.

They should work it so Ekblad ends up on the left half wall as the PP works in the zone. Ekblad has a really good shot and can rip one timers from the “Ovi spot”. Montour could cover the point.

Carolina is just a good team all around. Crazy that de Haan is on the top pairing. Good for him. Would have liked to get Bear in Florida.

I didn’t realize Stepan was on Carolina.

As i said in last thread there better be one hell of an exit strategy. You cannot have 4.5 mill or 10 mill sitting on the bench every game. I really dont know what is up with this signing unless zito is a mad man and throwing wrenches in all the other gm's plans that have good young goalies coming up. I kinda think hes lost it now just throwing money and picks every which way. Sure as hell hope im wrong

I like the idea of feeding Ekblad for the one-timer. I just hope they can keep the looks fresh on the PP and not continuously try to feed him. Because we all know that they’re stubborn and uncreative on the man advantage. They refused to change their approach under Brunette…

My son was saying for the last year, if not longer, to put Ekblad in Hubie’s spot and let him shoot. The few times he was there, it worked well. Hubie there on the PP wasn’t in a one timer shooting position, and he’s pass-first guy anyway, it became easier to defend when teams realized Hubie was never gonna shoot from there. And they stubbornly stuck to it under Brunette. Probably a big part of why Zito wanted a new coach, Bruno never tried a different approach even when they were like 0 for 30 on the PP in the playoffs.
