I'm biased. They're my two favorite Pens of all time under Mario, but I still think Phil can be useful with Geno.

Do I think the Pens are a top contender? No. I put them in the "anything can happen in the playoffs" category. With all that said, I really want to enjoy the ride with these guys finishing their careers and I think Phil makes that part more fun.

I mean that's putting Phil in the 75-80 point range haha. He ain't just getting 8 goals here. He'd be 15-20

I still think he's got it in him. He put up 44A on an abysmal AZ team. Even if he only scored 10G he'd still bump the PP and set up Geno & Rak all day long. I'm generally not one for wanting moves done out of nostalgia, but I think bringing Phil back hits the nostalgia button, but also improves this team.

Ok, it's still possible but if it was Ruth's signing I could see it being a higher percentage. If teams were taking cap Zucker would be gone.

I don't think McGinn gets moved this season, but I think next year the chances go up depending on a bunch of what-ifs.

Dumo and Zucker come off the books which frees up cash, but they'll still need to free up more I think to get certain things done.

Jarry and Blueger are the big free agents which shouldn't be too costly, maybe eats the cost of Dumo's hit coming off. Although I think part of the idea for bringing in Poehling is to see if he can be a cheaper replacement for Blueger. I'm sure Blueger will command in the mid $3M's.

We'll see about Dumo haha. I want him to rebound from last year but at the same time I know if he does he may be signed. Best case scenario is a rebound and he signs elsewhere haha.

I think Dumo will have a better season than last year for sure, but unless he bounces back to Dumo from four years I have to think he's gone.

Completely baffled that Hexy brought Kap back. Sullivan benched him routinely in third periods. Not exactly the kind of player you want to over-pay. I could see Rutherford trying to save face, but have no idea what Hexy was thinking.

I wouldn’t call Smith a reclamation project. He’s still a developing prospect.

I honestly don’t have much insight on Poehling, but he seems to have some potential to be a productive bottom six player.

Yea I think Poehling will be a good bottom 6 contributer. And hopefully Smith can at least be a bottom pair offensive dman

Geno hasn’t been machino since the Hurricanes series in 09. But he does love scoring the 567 of a 7-0 win, and beating up on lease teams in the league. Game 7 though? He’s out there registering 1 shot on goal. He’s not a legend, just a guy that was good and now not so good.
