You gotta be a complete and utter moron as a GM to even contemplate taking a Russian that high ... skill or no.... Way way to much risk.

Ducks took one @ 10 this yr.. but he's here and staying here...

Habs are a Florida injury or two away from having 2 top 10 picks.

So 2023 is a strong draft and Bedard-Michkov are ranked 1-2. Interesting stuff.

It might also be called the Bedard-Michkov-Fantilli sweepstakes. If the Draft were held today, due to the uncertainty of when SKA and the Russian government will allow Michkov to leave for the NHL, Fantilli might go 2nd. Also, like it or not, there are still teams that value the size factor if there's a choice between two high-skill players.

Unless teams know for a fact they can't get Michkov over, they would look like all of the idiots who passed on Tarasenko but x100.

His performance has been nothing short of insane both domestically and internationally.

With expectations low, The flyers will over perform and compete for a playoff spot and draft much higher then they should. Ensuring another middling prospect we can destroy with our development team.

And Putin will force him to do his military service, preventing him to come over until 2027

You'd have to be totally nuts to not take that chance with Michkov.

It's Bedard-Michkov. No GM is going to pass on him. It doesn't matter about the war. It doesn't matter if his contract runs until 2026. You take him anyway. Can't even believe this is a discussion.
