Money from Colorado is not going to get Kane done, where is Ecklund coming up with this stuff? Chicago is not going to take players or cash, the only picks that the Av's have over the next two years: 2023- Rounds 1, 5, 6, 7. 2024 - Rounds 1, 4, 6, 7. The only way Kane goes to Colorado is that the Hawks keep at least $5 - $6M and they would want at least both Number 1"s from 2023 and 2024 plus! That would bury the Av's future for the next 10 years!! I don't think Joe Sakic is that stupid!

Dubas unloads a $3.8 million backup so he can sign a $4.7 million backup? Do you realize Samsonov's numbers were worse than Murray's? Are you just randomly typing stuff on a keyboard? Why exactly will Samsonov be PRICEY? Are goalies with less than 100 NHL starts who threw out an .896 save % in their most recent season (which also is their only season as a #1) and aren't even QO'd by their team typically PRICEY?

If someone made a parody version of this site it wouldn't look materially different from the real version.

3.8 million on the worst goalie in the NHL wasnt Dubas’ final form. Through savvy trades, and moves in both free agency and the draft, Dubas is now paying 4.7M for a goalie who couldn’t even keep the crease against lesser goalies in the league. Names like Gustavsson and Forsberg were better than Murray last year.



Imagine going from Andersen/McElhinney to Mrazek/Campbell to Murray/Kalgren. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So just to follow the logic here...

The Leafs paid a price to dump Mrazek and add Murray, with a cap hit of $4.7M.

But Murray is just the back-up. The plan is actually to sign Samsonov as their #1. So Murray is just a $4.7M 1B or back-up, coming off injuries and with massive question marks.

But Samsonov will be PRICEY. Nobody knows why, but Ek said so.

What does PRICEY mean? Probably not pricey like Campbell or Kuemper, but maybe like $3-4M PRICEY?

So now the Leafs have say a $3.5M starter, and $4.7M back-up.

Ek, can you explain why any team would do that, particularly a cap-strapped team like Toronto? If the plan all along was Samsonov at $3.5M...couldn't they go out and find another back-up for less than $4.7M. Guys like Halak, Jones, Greiss will be looking for work at $1M. Not to mention numerous of depth goalies than could be picked up for a mid-round pick.

Here's my prediction...the Leafs do add a 2nd goalie, but it won't be PRICEY. Could even be Samsonov. But again, it's going to be $2M or less...
