I really believe that the writing is on the wall for Addison. But if you include him in the total of dmen on the roster, that actually brings it to 8. So, I am pretty sure Guerin is moving AT MINIMUM 1 defensemen, and probably moving at least 2. As it sits, I can see this set of D pairings.

Middleton-Spurgeon
Brodin-Dumba
Goligoski-Merrill

Which leaves Kulikov and Addison swinging in the wind. Of course, there is always that 7th Dman, but I am willing to bet that Dakota Mermis plays that role this year. And of course it all depends on how O'Rourke, Hunt and Johansson play in Iowa as well. And the fact that the Wild still need a #1 C, which opens the door to a Dumba trade.

Still hoping that these players are traded to improve the roster: Dumba, Jost, Greenway, Kulikov and Addison. Moving these 5 adds another $14mil to cap space, which sits at about $4.233 mil since the signing of Middleton. Unless Addison is going to play 3rd pairing & PP, with Goligoski skating with Spurgeon (liek the beginning of last year). The spots that would need to be filled?:

#1 C, #2 C, #4 C, top 4 and 7th dmen and 1B goalie. Now a couple of the spots can be filled by Rossi and Mermis. Hartman slots in at #2 RW. Gaudreau moves to #3 LW. These moves would leave around $15-16 mil in cap space to fill #1C ,#4C, Top 4 Dman and 2nd goalie. Plenty of moves to make. Let's get it done BG!

Very solid and physical player for a team friendly deal. Very good news all around. Sounds like he was good in the room too.
