What is there to make of the tension between Panarin and Drury? |

What is there to make of the tension between Panarin and Drury? - HenryHockey
None of us know. Drury is not one to reveal much. My take is that he likely was not happy with how Panarin played in the playoffs. Panarin himself wasn't happy as well. The reason for those struggles might be his style of play or trying to play how Gallant wanted, which is more conservative. We had hoped somewhat it was due to an injury, but that appears not to be the case. I highly doubt he is looking to move him, and unless Panarin wants to leave, he is going nowhere in my opinion. |

Chandler Stephenson is a center that should be considered. Will cost significant assets, but his contract is PERFECT! |

He along with like 7/8 guys would fit in. Just gotta make the right deal.
I think Nick Roy would be an easier one to get from them. Def cost less to get. He’s trending upwards had a very good season for a 3rd line center, he’s a pretty good player. Big like PLD. You could probably even offer sheet him like 2.5 mill and they can’t even match that lol |

If they can find a sucker to take Martinez, they should be done needing to dump anyone.

My list, based on fit on the team, cost to acquire and cap would probably be Bennett, Dach, PLD. I think Bennett would be a perfect stop gap signed to a great contract and brings a physical element to the top 6. I think Dach is a young center that plays physical and could use a change of scenery. PLD, while I think is the best of the 3, would cost a tremendous amount and his cap hit would be difficult to fit. |

Elliott Friedman thinks good chance Ryan Mcdonagh ends up with St. Louis
Be interesting to see what would happen with them if Mcdonagh just refused to be traded because of his NTC |

4 more years at 6.75, why would anyone help TB out of their cap problem? |

I think St. Louis is in more of a position where acquiring Mac would be about getting back to elite contender status rather than helping Tampa. |

Yeah I think Mcdonagh would be a good addition for them

It’s an expensive blue line, but part of me would love to see this.

Always loved Mac and would love to see him back, but that is an expensive price tag for 4 years. Especially with the type of game he plays. |

Folks forget quickly. It was St. Louis that was able to push back against Colorado in a very tough playoff series. St. Louis believes they are close. |

If I was Edmonton or Toronto I’m going full throttle if Mcdonagh is available. Not saying he would approve a trade to any of them or if they have the cap to make it work but if I were them I would make that call. |

Drury has such a way of keeping his cards close to the vest, I suspect we are all going to be blown away in surprise with a major move nobody saw coming in the next week.
Buckle up! |

Id be perfectly fine with only trading one of Jones Nils or Robertson and a pick for a good 3C. And sign motte and Vatrano if possible. And Kakko gets a bridge. It’s not the most exciting off season but idk if they actually need it to be
They drafted all these guys and rebuilt pretty much a blueprint for other teams to follow, and now is when we let them out to run like thoroughbreds |

It is strange a lot of the beat writers keep saying rangers intend to let strome, Copp and vatrano test the market. But no mention at all on Motte. Is his new deal basically done? |

I think the reason is motte is right in the wheelhouse where they can sign guys at. Under two mill. There is no reason to not keep him. That’s where the focus should be anyway imo, get a solid bottom 6..meaning addition by subtracting guys like Rooney, Reaves, Hunt, JBrod, Gauthier, etc. They have plenty of top 6 talent right now
I’m sure they’re all nice guys, but we have Stanley cups to win 🤷🏻♂️ |
