I will vomit if I have to watch Letang or Malkin celebrate their 1,000th NHL game with a different jersey on.
Crosby's was bad enough since it wasnt near a capacity crowd with Covid restrictions.
My offseason plan would be pretty simple:
1. Resign Letang
2. Resign Malkin
3. Resign Rakell
4. Try to move Dumolin
5. Use FA or Trade to find an impactful winger for Malkin
6. Resign Heinen
7. Improve your #2 goalie.
8. Take stock of your salary cap and build out the depth up front. |

Did anyone see Rutherfords quotes about not liking vancouvers change room and an overhaul coming in the next 6 months? Hexy better get out the phone and offer up all Ruth’s fav players. |

The 4th Period is reporting that John Gibson is OK with being traded. He has a 10-team no-trade list but you KNOW the Pens are not on it. How about Gibson for Jarry and Pettersson to give the Pens some cap room? If not, what works, other than Dumelin? |

As previously agreed. Jarry petterson and zucker for Gibson and comtois. |

Gibson has been pretty underwhelming lately. With Jarry playing well, not sure we'd consider him like we did last year. - SuperHenderson13
Makes no sense to trade a top ten goalie who makes $3.5M.

I have to think Dumo or Petts are as good as gone and probably the only major departure via trade. I'd like to see McGinn moved, but I have a feeling they value him and while I'm sure they'd like to trade Zucker, I'm not sure how easy that will be. I don't think it's as hard as people think, but I think it will take a specific situation to make it happen.
I read rumblings SEA may be open to moving Soucy. If that's the case I'd trade Zucker + a pick or prospect for Soucy. - Rinosaur
I don't think we want to add any more cap to our defense. Defeats the purpose of trading Zucker who if healthy is worth something, just not what he's being paid. |

Pens gave up three first round picks plus Addison and their return?
Brassard
Zucker
Kapanen
That's A LOT of hindsight! - stevens87
That's why we are where we are, 3 big misses. If a couple of those hit, we'd have a different situation.
It's crazy how GMJR went from almost all his moves being great to almost all being lousy. |

It wouldn't be adding. It would be shifting. If Dumo or Petts moves, you now have Soucy for a year and moving Zucker frees up cash, so instead of buying him out and being on the hook for two years, it's done and get a decent physical dman.

Definitely but they will have to ship someone out to get under the cap. |

One who I believe has 1 year left then will be paid like Gibson. Two cap dumps for security in net for several years plus a reclamation project with good potential to be a positive asset. It costs a good young goalie. But good amount of cap space comes back. Fair deal. |

Eh, I'd personally just subtract a D and stop there. With Ruhwedel, POJ, and Friedman we only need to be paying 4 defensemen big dollars. If they could move 2 defensemen then sure |

Oh, I agree as a general idea, but I'm talking in terms of options to move Zucker. I imagine is highly unlikely to find a team to dump is contract, so instead of retaining they can take a cheaper player back.

This logic still doesn't make sense. For all intents and purposes, Gibson is also reclamation project. He hasn't been good in a while and yeah, while he may need a change of scenery, we already know Jarry is good and half the price.
