Every game since acquiring Mathieu Joseph was memorable and really fun to watch this year. Love the dynamic that guy brings to the team and he's gonna be a beauty once he's settled in and has more stability in terms of his contract situation.

That four game period at the start of April (vs. Det x2, MTL and NSH) where he put up 10 points, including that hat trick game, was some of the best hockey I've seen this team play and he was the driving force behind a lot of it. He's gonna be a great dark horse fantasy draft pick next season.

If they can extend him and then re-sign Paul, could be one of the best trades the team has ever made...

I am also, fwiw, not his agent or other type of representative in any way...

Those four games the one where Chabot returned vs. MIN and the 8-2 win in FLA would be on the shortlist for my top 5 games this year.

Kevin,
Thank you for the insight and detailed explanation on your previous blog. Very interesting, no doubt. Can't believe Dorion kept his job while Melnyk was around.

I think there's some men in hockey who appreciate not being the smartest guy in the room. Apparently that's not Dorion.

Thanks so much! The new info that was brought to me by 2 family members and other incredible sources, makes the whole Dorion thing, workplace toxic that nobody can comprehend. Considering the laws in this country when it comes to what is or isn't allowed in a workplace environment, the garbage that went on in the front office wouldn't be allowed or tolerated in your every day office!

But you nailed on it on your smartest guy comment....problem is Dorion and DJ too, both aren't very smart men in general. If you all knew there true education background it would blow you away!

It always helps when you are at a game live, brings more meaning. The Wild win was a nice one for sure. But beating MTL the worst team in the league, personally for me it had no meaning. I went with games in which it had character building for the team as they grow. The win against Florida was nice, but again they caught the Panthers in the best spot! Colorado had their 3rd string goalie in and then their 4th string goalie in that win, that is why I couldn't put it in my top 5. Keumper and Francouz didn't dress for the game.

But good stuff on getting to so many games this year!!

I truly would've liked a bigger sample size as they say. He piled up points against terrible teams outside of NSH. There is no need to extend him beyond qualifying him his RFA sheet, then lets see what this year brings. No need to get tied up on a long term deal when nobody knows his ceiling.

Florida game, I agree with but they lost the game otherwise it would've made my top 5 wins this year.

Nice post and glad you are back.

We all have different criteria when it comes to things like this but you made it clear that these wins you posted had meaning for the team.

Many fans that come in here will have an infinity for games in which they attended or that were entertaining, win or lose.

The games you mentioned had significant meaning when you look back on the season. If the Sens had lost some of those games, it could've meant prolonged losing streaks or that the season could've went sideways even more.

If this team could have a .500 road record next year and improve immensely on their dismal home record, they could truly contend for a playoff spot. But I know that's a pipe dream and asking for a lot.

It goes to show you how hockey fans period can't believe this idiot has the title of NHL GM. Both fans in this city or outsiders all realize the ineptitude that takes place with Dorion on a weekly basis. One can only hope this team sells by next year.

Qualify Joseph end of story. Dorion could've done the same with Matt Murray, but instead jumps the gun and gives him a 4 year deal. We don't need another mistake by Dorion trying to look into the future giving these guys crazy deals. Colin White 2.0 lol we don't need it.

I can say this, I made a lot of money betting both for and against Ottawa this past season. As for your GM, he has no business being one of 32 GM's in the NHL.
