I hope GMPV signs a few short-term rental forwards/Dmen to trade at the deadline, but I also want to make sure the kids have more room to grow.
I also wonder if Gibson would be a fit in Toronto. If we retained 50% of the salary AND took on Mrazeks contract, could we get Nylander? That’d give TOR about $10m in cap flexibility and the ability to resign Campbell to have maybe the best 1/2 punch in net of the NHL. May not be the full deal, but it could be worked around (though that’s a ton of time to retain 3m in salary…)

Why would we retain any salary? We have a starter in Stolarz and a back up. Go after Toronto’s front lines - Nylander, Kerfoot, Kampf or Bunting. Maybe try and sign Campbell since he’s a UFA.

Trade Gibson …. I like the Soup thought …but he’ll have many suitors.

Use picks & some prospects for established players…

Lots of teams with cap problems we should be able to exploit.
