The idea of a UFA playing for an arch rival is just sickening. If that’s the case, why should we as fans stay loyal to our teams?
That means all the passion for your team, tickets, jerseys, etc. goes down the drain.
Might as well just sit back, not watch until the playoffs, and ambivalently enjoy the next team to make a cup run.
If they go the high priced mercenary route, so should we as fans. |

Captain Comfortable has no interest in going to a market where there is pressure to win. He comes from the flyers country club. There are reasons he choose Florida over other teams who had a better shot to win.

1. Boston Bruins: If Patrice Bergeron decides to retire, the Bruins should go after Giroux. If the Bruins also persuade David Krecji to return from Czechia, the Bruins’ offense should be improved.
No. While it wouldn't be horrible the right move for now and the future is to fire Cam Neely, Don Sweeney, and their staff. Retain Bruce Cassidy and start the rebuild. |

One surefire way to get clicks is to write a post saying, 'Claude Giroux should end up with one of the Bruins, Rangers, Devils, or Caps,' and see what happens. Might as well list the Pens in there for a bit more attention, ya know, "especially if the Penguins can't re-sign Evgeni Malkin." |

Good point, the Presidents Trophy winners coming out of the toughest division in hockey clearly did not have a good shot to come out of the East. Fantastic take. |

no there is not in any way. There is no media to speak of. No one really cares about the flyers anymore. They have sadly become an after thought in philly sports.

It is a fantastic take if you knew any better. Of which you don't. They were not in the toughest division. They were also not the cup favorite. Either way CC Giroux doesn't have winning has his top priority.
Is there pressure to win greater in other markets than it is for the panthers? |

He had Boston and NYR on his no trade list because he didn't want to play for a long time rival. So he won't be signing there. Probably not Pitt or Washington either. |

There is a lot of angst in your written word, did you buy new undies and find them used or something?

6. New Jersey Devils: The Devils are willing to trade the No. 2 draft pick to expedite their improvement. Why not keep the pick and woo Giroux. He can play wing or center. The team has plenty of cap space. Why not make the effort.
Why the (frank) would we want this over the hill glorified 2C? Hard pass!
Yes, we have roster issues. But we don't need another one |

Why isn't Colorado an option?
There going to lose kadri to UFA and his money would be close to what G wants in a deal.

You wouldnt like most teams on that list.
Colorado, Florida, work best, LA & hate to say it but Vegas could get into this.

Giroux isn't a winner. He's looking for a payday and low-pressure life. And likely a team with thin depth so he isn't threatened to lose a top 6 role. I could see San Jose, LA, Anaheim, Vegas, maybe back to Florida, Dallas, Nashville. Whoever signs him will overpay and be disappointed. |

This doesn't make any sense. Players move to other teams all the time. Players are traded to rival teams. UFA players sign with other team. How does one player who is a UFA signing with a rival team remove the passion for rooting for a team? I don't get it. |

The pressure is much much less there than other markets Cliff Claven. That is a 100% fact.
