Also did everyone see that goal Mike Smith let in last night? I know that's 3 wins in a row for Smith, but the Oilers NEEDED to play Stuart Skinner after Game 1. If he ever actually goes to the Avs, how can there be constant speculation here and on NHL Network that he's going to the Avs? How will they fill all that air time / page space? Now that Lundquist is retired and MAF should be retired, they're going to have to come up with some new over the hill goalie with romanticized capabilities who the Avs 'have to get.' Jonathan Quick? At least he actually was Playoff Money!(tm) at one point and did help win the cups he's credited with, so that would be a step forward.

You really think signing Kuemper would stop talk that the Avs 'need' to trade for some used up goalie? Didn't seem to this season. Or when Grubauer was in the middle of his contract and Lundquist was reaching the end in NY. The Avs are perennially just a used up goalie away from glory.
