My thoughts exactly. Some reports said he has a shoulder injury. So I would bump him clean checks at every moment he has the puck. LGR, got it done!

Rangers need to play smart hockey meaning yes let’s play physical but can we also know when to take the body. I love Reaves and his physical presence but can he figure it out when to lay a body hit and when it’s smart to play the puck on the forecheck. So many times the puck can easily be had but decides to lay a check only for him to be taken out of the play. That’s another thing that’s been frustrating.

I want to see a quick transition game with also us owning the neutral zone. None of this getting pinned in deep for long periods of time. We need to be better 5v5 tonight.

Owning the neutral zone is key! Pens have done a good job of clogging it up in this series. All of the regular season games the pens gave up the neutral zone and allowed the rangers to use their speed! They have to get back to that.

I would be very careful of this. Everyone knows Crosby may be hurt, the last thing we need is taking penalties for targeting. Crosby will be protected.

Going to have some rust. Pepper him early.

Going to be super fun game tonite! If we win, we advance and get more experience for our young team. If we lose, we make it a teachable moment for our youngsters. A game 7 experience for all of our kids will pay dividends down the road.

One last note: I want to take a moment to recognize how good Jan is as our blogger. He exudes a passion like us fans, but keeps himself professional all the time and remains above much of the fray and nonsense that occasionally rises. When you see the awful writings of guys like Ryan Wilson, it makes me appreciate Jan even more! If this is our final game of the season, thanks Jan for another great year!
