Here's how the #leafs are taking morning skate before Game 3:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Nylander-Tavares-Anderson*
Mikheyev-Kampf-Kerfoot
Engvall-Blackwell-Spezza

Rielly-Lyubushkin
Muzzin-Brodie
Giordano-Holl

(*Probable placeholder for Kase)

Yeah a few head-scratchers here.
Holl sucks. Blackwell has been pretty sucky. Engvall is too good for line 4 and I dont think Kase cuts it on line 1.
I dont mind reuniting Willy and JT though.
I can't decide if it's good or bad to sit both Simmer and Clifford.

Too much tinkering just because of a loss isn't really a good idea to me.

Big effort today.. move those feet.. and watch for the extra whistle nonsense... keep you head about you ... and survive the 1st minute surge.

For all you booze aficionados, I bought some broadhead strawberry guava saison, muskoka tread lightly, and a bottle of sancerre for tonight's game.

My impressions of the Leafs after two games (from an opposing perspective) :

Matthews line and PP is friggin dangerous.

Secondary scoring is nothing to worry about so far. JT and Willie aren't producing yet.

Fourth line has been plugs and pylons.

Defense is a lot more solid than in years past.

Soup is equal to (at worst) Andersen or better.

PK is dangerous - don't cheat on them.

I'd say this is the most dangerous and deep version of the Leafs the Lightning have seen yet. I've been saying it for a few years in this forum - the Leafs will be a serious contender in the next season or two. That time is here now.

How the Lightning beat the Leafs in this series - Vasi goalies the poop out of them or the Bolts outpace them with depth scoring over a long series.

I do like Spezza coming in.
Matthews and Marner will always be a threat no matter who they match up against, and its pretty dope to see, but Tampa is making the Leafs look like a 1-line team and thats annoying. I'm losing hope for the depth and praying M&M will put this team on their backs.
If anything, I'm expecting more goals from the 3rd line than the second.

Of course, same could be said for Stamkos and Killorn. Killorn is usually a big playoff performer and he's been quiet.

Stammer and JT still have a bit more to give in the series. Both have played well but they can be even better

Leafs are being too physical that's why the penalties are called. Can't play too soft, but can't be too physical.. Need to learn what they can and can't get away with..

Anderson can't be in ....no way.

I'm guessing Kase is expected to be in there.

If not ...Kerf and Eng bump up a line and Clifford gets on the 4th line.

After the praise Keefe gave Cliffy it'd be really weird to throw an unproven Ahl'er in there.

Really enjoying your balanced takes on this series and the 2 teams.

? for you - do you think Keefe potentially (because that's what it sound like is the case now) not dressing either of Clifford or Simmonds is a mistake or a good thing for Toronto as it should generate a more offensive line up top to bottom? I am interested in hearing a Tampa fan's opinion on this.
