The only thing that fletcher crystallized for the flyer fanbase is that the franchise is in the most muddy, directionless, and hopeless state it’s been in in at least 30 years |

Hopefully Chuck's plan isn't to trade away more 1st and 2nd rounders and spend to the cap ceiling just so the Flyers can be a lottery team again next season.

Sadly and reluctantly, I have to agree. Fletcher is the equivalent of a hockey used car salesman.

Just by hiring a competent coach, getting healthy, and doing nothing else the Flyers IMO will be a playoff bubble team next season. The Flyers then will be a bubble team with about $10M in cap space, presuming they jettison JVR. If this happens will you then state the GM has done a good job?
Look, you and I both know this team is much better than their record indicates. They have good veteran players and a blossoming young core. If they are healthy they will be in the hunt next season, there is no doubt in my mind about this.

Assuming they trade JVR that $10 million cap space needs to pay for 8 players to fill out the roster including a backup goalie. If they don't it's 7 mill for 7 players to fill out the roster including backup goalie.
Let's stop pretending the Flyers have all this cap space just because all their 4th liners and 3rd pairing defenseman had expiring contracts. |

It’s a true reflection of this organization and specifically ownership that 2 of their employees got very sick with cancer and have left it to the fans to support payment for them. I definitely will support them but I now have a better understanding of the working atmosphere inside the Flyers organization.
Are there Go Fund Me coming for other team employees? There is no need for Ellis to go without rehab equipment.
I wonder how the culture and morale is in this organization. I think I have a good idea. I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce tickets prices are going up due to the lost revenue from fans not showing up at the games. |

If the organization, which is being sued, started to pay for it, wouldn't that pretty much be an admission that they are responsible for it? And I am not talking about the cancer treatment, I am talking about the assertion that the working environment is the cause.
The simple fact is they can't pay for everything until the suit is settled.

There’s a chance this isn’t rock bottom. If next year guys like Frost and Tippett don’t show they can regularly produce in the NHL, and guys like Tk and Farabee don’t show they have another gear, there is literally no hope for the team. Ironically it might be the best case scenario because the team will have to be torn down |

No. It is called taking care of a long time employee. The 2 can and should be separated. Take care of your own. |

Is it possible that if they support their employees in the first place they would not have sued them?
Maybe the accountant and lawyers did a cost analysis and concluded it’s cheaper to not support their employees and let it play out in court negotiate a cheaper settlement.
Either way I would be a morale booster for everyone who works for the team to see how they would be treated if it happened to them. |

I also wonder if players like Foerster, Wisdom, Samu Tuomaala etc will be ready to compete for jobs. Especially after Foerster and Wisdom missed so much time with injuries. And even those who weren't hurt lost much ice time due to the Covid shutdowns. Tuomaala has only played 30 games this year. Foerster 28 games (including 6 playoff games)
So many players are behind in their development. It's going to be a tough road to get them up to speed.

Yeah, that's not actually a thing in this situation. Good try though. |

The first thing we are going to do is put together an ideal candidate profile.
How has that not been done already? Bill you said you dont believe they haven't started. Then why on earth would he say that? Makes you look incompetent.
2. Becoming a better puck possession team is a top priority.
Funny seeing who he traded and who he brought in last off season.
3. Young players vital to success moving forward.
Derick Brassard, Keith Yandle, Nate Thompson - where they not all signed before the injuries to the young players?
Will believe it when I see it. He will still sign schitty vets.
/***************************************************************/
Ellis wont be back. They are setting the stage for a career ending "injury".
I hope Fedotov comes over and makes the team. No reason why he can't push Hart. As would love to see how Hart handles that.
Also do not see Sandstrum signing if they bring over Fedotov.
Bottom line is Chuck is one of the worst GM's on the league. The fact they cant recognize this leaves the future very bleak. |

good try at what? Paying his medical or helping is not an admission of guilt or wrong doing.

Sure it's possible. But I have no idea what was being paid for and what wasn't. I would imagine the medical treatment was being paid for under the Flyers health insurance. But I am under the impression the organization is being sued for damages, and that is what the fight is about.

not a chance in hell. They already screwed him up somewhat.
They wont even let the "young" guys they have now compete for spots.
Look at Isaac Ratcliff. Called up played 10 games. Looked ok. Then sent back down. He has to clear waivers next season. Why on earth not give him an extended look to see what he has to offer?

Yeah, these guys have workmen's comp and are likely pursuing some treatments that go beyond what that provides. They also likely have disability benefits too and it is not clear how these costs are being addressed by those benefits. Not ready to throw the organization under the bus over this aspect of a case built on the carcinogenicity of gasoline emissions. Having said that, I hope they make a full recovery and get all of the medical attention they need to do so.

You are asking if it is an admission of guilt or wrong doing if they pay any medical expense correct? Or did I read it wrong?
