Sure! If he continues to play elite, maybe a 2nd round pick?

Dorion and MCGuire at the Habs vs Min. Maybe for scouting Toffoli, Savard, Grennway, Fiala, Dumba

Not agree, I think DJ and Dorion do great job at developing our young. This is good to just give a couple games in the big league and send down after to work on things. Work for Batherson, Formenton, Brannstrom. Seem gonna work for Sokolov, Thomson in the AHL.

I don’t know Kevin your vendetta against DJ and Dorion but starting to be annoying to talk every blog

Any/all of these players could be moved, but the only way you do that is by playing them occasionally. I think you need to give DJ some credit at the very least for finally decreasing JB's ice time. It should give the player easier matchups and maybe even improve his value. I do believe in the youth movement, but I also believe in graduating players over time, and also maximizing deployment. If a rookie was to play low in the lineup or God forbid be routinely scratched in the NHL, I'd much rather they play top line minutes in the A.

They were in North Dakota, that is why they were at the Minny game. It is close by.

Vendetta......seriously check where those players were developed, not here in Ottawa! You couldn't be more wrong, saying a few games for Batherson, Formenton and Brannstrom. You couldn't be more wrong man!

It was ALLLLLLLL Mann down in Belleville who developed Batherson for over 2 years....not a few games!
Formenton......76 games in Belleville, he still only has 62 NHL games under his belt.
Brannstrom......49 games in Belleville, 72 games NHL with Ottawa.
Norris.........56 games in Belleville, one full season in the AHL he had 61pts.
Batherson.....103 games in Belleville, 129 games in the NHL here in Ottawa.
So before you say something, check your stats, check to see WHO ACTUALLY developed these prospects....it wasn't DJ! It was all Mann!
Thomson has been developed in Belleville......50 games in Belleville, 38 points down in the AHL! Only 12 games here in Ottawa.

Sokolov, 62 games in Belleville over last year and this year, 46 points. Only 4 games in the NHL with Ottawa.

JBD, 18 games in Belleville, 8pts +5. 8 games this year, 4 games last year in the NHL with Ottawa.

This is the problem, DJ ruins some of these kids' confidence the way he JERKS them around. I am telling you, earlier in the season I spoke with someone who is part of player development here in Ottawa.......Stutzle, Formenton, and Brannstrom were all fed up with DJ! In fact, why do you think Brannstrom changed agents at the beginning of the season?! Check your facts before trying to tell me stuff that is far from the truth.

DJ has the 3 names you mentioned above all playing important minutes now here in Ottawa because of injury and covid, it wasn't because he wanted too......keep drinking the Dorion koolaid, then DJ found out that the 3 of them were far better than he gave them credit for. STUNNER! When fans and media were all over him for it. Thomson got time here for the same reasons when he was top 6 coming out of pre-season on the blueline. Both Thomson and Brannstrom were sent down due to waiver exempt deals on their ELC.....MDZ and Brown were taking their minutes here to start the season when both of the prospects outplayed the 2 vets in the pre-season.

It was DJ who was benching Formenton and Stutzle for 1 or 2 full periods a time for one mistake........Brannstrom being a healthy scratch or being sent back down to Belleville. DJ is sooooo over his head being a first-time HC but Ottawa paid him nothing. Let's face it we have a HC and GM who are probably the lowest paid in the league.

Paul - resign him 2-3 years, don't trade him!
Forsberg - trade him, like they say, buy low, sell high, Dorion crushed this one, getting him on waivers, this is one waiver claim that come out way ahead for him!
Sanford - Sens wont get much, Logan Brown is now playing every night in STL too.....unload him and let Sokolov take his minutes.
Gambrell - He will probably play out the season here, then Dorion will need to decide if he qualifies him.
Gaudette - another waiver claim guy, who knows what happens with him, don't see him here past the summer.
J. Brown - trade him, waive him....whatever it takes to get him out of town and to stop taking minutes from the youth on this team!
Ennis - great pro, keep him here the rest of the season.
Mete - Ottawa claimed him for a reason, Habs didn't think he was an NHLer and now everyone here in Ottawa is seeing what Habs fans already knew. Unload now!

Tierney is the one guy you forgot, Bishop plays a faster and smarter game than him. I say move Tierney as soon as you can!

Excellent analysis of DJ.
I agree with you 100% but BUT.....DJ probably thinks his "development style" has worked wonders!!! Look at how well Branny is playing now. He probably thinks it's all his doing - making him earn it like a true pro.

Some of your replies come off as real petty Kevin, when someone posts opposing view points to yours. Might deter more people from posting opinions on your blogs. You do a good job of presenting statistics, stick with that to prove your points and opinions.

I'd be happy to trade our coach and GM for yours, by the way.

I just want to add my two cents worth in support of Crosside and Beergu. I am of the opinion that the Senators are doing a great job with regard to the development of the players. It is showing in the maturation of the players mentioned and especially this season of Brannstrom, JBD, and Thomson. It is not all Mann although his work is a large part of it. It's also DJ, Dorion, Maguire, Jesse Winchester, Sean Donovan. It's a team effort that is allowing the players to be managed properly in their development. You keep talking about Josh Brown. Why? He's a placeholder. He won't be here next year. He's being played while the players who are the future are being developed properly. That includes them being allowed to work on things in the AHL.

Dono and Winchester yes I agree......PM who knows what he's doing behind the scenes because we are kept in secrecy now as to what his role is. Did you look at the TOI numbers I posted with Brown vs. JBD? Management keeps telling us youth movement. Then you have a player like Heatherington who got sent down last week when he brings far more to the table, a better seasoned pro in every way. The craziest part about it is that what fans didn't know, was when they sent down Heatherington last week, the BSens had 4 days off, the staff gave the team Fri. to Mon off because they couldn't go home at Christmas due to the covid quarantine. So why not keep Heatherington with the team or even the taxi squad.

Brannstrom was the 2nd last player on the Sens to go into covid protocol. Stutzle was the 3rd last and it hit him in Alberta. The only other player not to have been in covid protocol yet is Brady! Bannstrom missed time with the broken hand but all the other times he wasn't here was when he was sent down. The guy begged to play the RD with DJ and then when he finally does it due to injury other defensemen, he realizes that it's ok to play the other side, wow. That is why this coach fails his players on so many levels. Simmer said it best on radio here, no rookie coach is ever given carte blanche by a GM, in the NHL ever! And DJ and his favs and unwillingness to do the right thing has hurt this team tremendously. His record speaks for itself. As a coach, you need to get the most out of your players, not hold them back.

There is no blogger, nobody on this site that engages with his readers more than Kevin like it's not even close. So the fact that you mention what you did, he is head and shoulders above all of them on here with regards to character and more should come in his blog because he actually takes his work seriously here He takes the time to always respond to readers and really his first class.

Hey guys. I haven’t been on the site in like 2 months. I’m only here to say that this is the worst officiating I’ve seen in recent memory. The Buffalo players could pull out weapons and attack us at this point, and nothing would happen. The second period picks right up where the first left off. Non-calls all over the place. Smfh
