The skating was really good last night. It was the as good as it was in November. For some reason the Ducks skating started talling off just before Christmas. And it was really noticeable after the Christmas break. I keep wondering if this is the after effects of all the Covid cases the Ducks have had. Not just the missing days. But maybe just fatigue in there bodies form the infection. Still it's really good that there showing signs of a turn around. And maybe if the Ducks can solidify a top 3 spot in the pacific we can think about adding a player.

But before that. The front office needs to address the weather to resign the free agents. Because it doesn't make sense to add players only to trade out other players. The gain will be minimal.

The skating was good, legs were turning over, but just as important was their passing! It is so nice watching this team breakout of their own end when the players are skating and the passing is on the tape. Last night they made it seem easy, which lead to many chances on the rush. Add a healthy Fowler, Manson, Henrique, Milano, Jones back in and we will be back to playing like we did earlier in the season.

Come trade deadline I would like to see the ducks find a way to get a top 6 winger and reliable 3rd line dman. I would also be interested in seeing what they are able to get for Kesler’s contract.

On the attack all night and had some finish.

Steel can go away any day now. Grant and DiLo were straight nails all night.

Loved the D effort all over the ice.. Mahura needs a regular shift in Ana ... Even Larsson looked ok last night.. and Pateryn looked nice with his shot...

Gibby was unreal..

Speaking from experience, yes to the Covid hangover. I only felt sick for three days but the fatigue lasted another week or so. This totally explains the poor efforts against Minnesota and Chicago. Now that almost the whole team has had it, maybe they can make a run in the second half.
As for the FA's, Hampus is the only one I'd make a serious effort to sign. Manson maybe and Rackell can be moved. Ricky just can't score anymore, he gets plenty of chances, too. The problem with that is, who would want him?

I could see Pit interested in Raks and for me let that happen... Give me Perreault and or Jones there any day.

Yup. We could afford to sign one free agent. Probably Lindholm or Manson. Rakell probably the odd man out. As much as he's done we have other players to bring up. But defense men are harder to develop. They usually take 3 years before they start getting use to the NHL. So losing both Manson and Lindholm at the same time would leave a big hole on our blue line. One that would take years to fill.
