On Wednesday, the Flyers announced that Travis Konency and Travis Sanheim have had to be placed in COVID-19 protocol. As a result, the Flyers are now down six players due to protocol: Claude Giroux, Ivan Provorov, Konecny, Sanheim, Nick Seeler and Jackson Cates.

But the Flyers, as is every other NHL team, are all 100% vaccinated with all 3 shots according to Chuck Fletcher. How is it possible then that the players are contracting Covid and then spreading it throughout the locker room? And again I ask, how many players does a team have to be down before the game is postponed? What is the policy? Why were games postponed last week but not this week?

What a farce. Why would anyone pay to watch this game. You’d never see 9 regulars out with injury, but the show must go on. It will prob end 7 or 8 to 1.

The randomness of postponing games is my real issue. I get that Canada is a whole different issue. It does seem like a pretty big advantage for the Pens right now. Four of the players are physically able to play but can't due to a failed test that is not 100% accurate.

Anymore than five players out of the lineup should lead to a postponement. I would feel the same way if the roles were reversed as well.

They re-introduced the taxi squad in response to all the game postponements. This is obviously the strategy they are going with to keep the ball rolling while most NHL teams struggle to keep their heads above water financially....and to avoid going back into a 'bubble' situation again. The situation sucks, the Flyers obviously suck...deal with it.

Change the word "could" to "will" and yes, yes it could.

But the taxi squad has only 6 players and one of them is a goalie, so what do you do when you have 9 players out, 6 due to Covid and none of them are goalies? And Covid is running ramped throughout the locker room and on the Phantoms, how can the Flyers ice a competitive team?? Plus even if they could is the product worth the price of admission? These games should be postponed for a f ew more weeks and then made up in Feb when the teams were scheduled to break for the Olympics.

The league was already up to 98 games postponed. They just can't keep postponing games.

The GM is loving this as it will likely save him for being canned. More excuses.

Hopefully there is a betting line posted at some point.

This really could be ugly tonight. I have no illusions of a win tonight, but what I would love to see is a strong effort for three periods.

I know what they’re doing but it’s only serving to skew games and results. If this keeps up what you’ll see is minimal change with the flyers because management will say it wasn’t a real season and coupled with injuries, we can’t make all kinds of adjustments if we don’t know what kind of team we really have.

As well, if I was a sth and routinely had to watch a lineup, I’d be asking for a refund. As it is I’m wishing I hadn’t ordered centre ice.

I watched pitt last night and they were flying. Even they can hold their own and stay within 3 goals it’ll be epic.

In my opinion, it's a guarantee that changes will be made. It's just a question of if they go in the right direction. My guess is they won't.

Saint Ronnie with a small no risk potential reward trade yesterday. Picked up Nylander from the Hawks.

I hate Buttman!!!! This game should be postponed! You just know Buttman will be tuned in to see his Pens trounce the Flyers C team. This is a joke! Of course, I won't be tuned in regardless cause I'm not paying for ESPN+!! This new TV contract is a joke!! Perhaps Buttman will put a team in Laredo Texas next? What's the betting line? Are the Flyers a +500. WTF!!!!

What direction should they go? What would be your plan?

Would you look to move Ivan and/or Sanheim?

Some changes will Be made ie trade of g and rr likely. Ufa s not re signed.

Management will likely say they haven’t been able to evaluate the team properly and make limited changes. I can’t see them going for a tank and 5 to 7 year rebuild.

100% agree. The ESPN deal is horrible. Blackout rules are horrible. The NHL doesn't know what they're doing in this regard.
