Because he's a bust. Not really any other way to look at it.

Let's go boys!

We need to take it one period, one game at a time. I'm not even interested in a win right now, just better play. That would be a good start.

After awhile, it's not about talent level. It's about compete level.

Bill, have you had the chance to witness or hear about practice. Yeo stated at first he wasn’t going to change much but would imagine he would start to implement different systems or changes to the current one. Has this started?

Was also interesting to hear brassard state he had his first pregame scouting report ever.

"Upper body injury" is all they've said. We can suspect what it is, but it's never been confirmed.

They haven't had a practice yet under Yeo. Five games in seven nights (Sun-Mon-Wed-tonight-tomorrow night). Also still a makeshift staff with only two assistants (Williams and goalie coach Dillabaugh) plus skills coach Ricci and video coordinator Patterson. There have been fill-in assistants on the bench the last two games (Lappy on Monday, Nick Schultz on Wed).

As such, no there haven't been any systems tweaks yet.

Whether it was physical or performance-wise, he is what he is.

Unrealized potential.

My first thought is, I hope he’s alright and can continue his career. That’s just me though.

Not so sure he has the mental fortitude to prove to himself that he can be a solid NHL let alone a top two pick.

I don't want Torts to coach this team, but just once I want Fletcher to pay him to address the team mid game just like this!

He says everything I would want to say to this team right now!

Do you know what's even scarier? The Flyers have the potential to have a decent amount of cap space to use this off season. They won't do the right thing. They'll either resign Ristolainen or have a repeat of last off season. Dooming them even further. The previously discussed timeline of 5 years to get right may be very optimistic.

Oh for sure. Flyers will always double down on stupid. 100% guaranteed.

Lane Lambert knows Barry Trotz's system very well since he has been his assistant coach every where he has been, he would be a good candidate. Also Jae Sacco from the Bruins, another assistant that knows the Bruins' defensive system well. And maybe Mike Yeo, I think we should give him a chance.
- jd250

Trotz system is predicated on a lot of beef and foot speed to retrieve dump ins... as we've seen the Flyers personnel falls way short there.

I'd rather they not try to copy anything other coaches/teams are doing -- Flyers have been guilty of doing that for decades with little to no results.

Find a coach who is willing to tailor a system to the personnel at hand... they're not gonna be able to get rid of every player off this roster, so they're just gonna have to use them better.

His career is basically over.

Between Morin and Patrick, I don't know who to feel sorry for more.

Yeah. Okay for each other. One recent gane we started with smaller gaps and short easy passes. Supporting each other. Then the wheels fell off again and out passes were 69 plus feet. This team is mind boggling right now.
