Odds are the ship will continue to sink unless changes are made.

We'll see if they have what it takes to turn things around. The next 5 games is the softest 5 game stretch of the season so there's no excuse. 3-1-1 minimum. If they don't, Ruff and Recchi better be gone. Then bring Dineen up.

Nico needs to step up. I was right behind the Dev's bench for the wpg game and the kid did nothing but roll his eyes and whine to the coaches in between whistles. His body language and attitute did not present like a man ready to battle back. He looked defeated even when they brought the game back from an 0-3 deficit. It was bordering on embarrassing. I can't remember seeing a captain whine and display such an obvious look of defeat while still in a competitive game. I am very rarely critical of Nico, and maybe he has some lingering issues I am unaware of, but he looked as undetermined as I have ever seen. It's no surprise that I watch alot of Jets hockey, and the difference in teammates showing willingness to hit and get in the dirty areas is noticible between the two teams. That was a lackluster performance.

The only lingering issue Nico has is he shouldn't be Captain and making so much money.

Another dumb “centering try”. Sometimes you just gotta shoot.. and the guy crashing the center can get the rebound.
Also- we seem to be aggressively trying to assist on an Ottawa goal. It’ll work sooner or later.

With the amount of bad turnovers this period, if the Sens weren't one of the worst teams in the league we'd be losing right now. I'm not sure what about tonight has changed from any other game, really.

That sequence with Bratt and Hughes was mind-numbingly bad. What on earth. Pass it to one guy to play 1v1, then when he has no option pass it to another guy to play 1v1, do that again until we lose possession. Bizarre.

Jack's timing isn't there yet, give it time. He had a dominant shift earlier where he fed both Johnsson and Shara a pass that could've been a goal. For his game to be effective he needs to be playing real fast, and isn't all there yet.

While true, Ruff said they were trying to work on the defensive side of the game which is what makes it so worrying. Yeah, only five shots on goal against but still a pile of dumb turnovers. Recently we've gotten somewhat unlucky not scoring on some dangerous chances but at least process to score goals is there. The process in which to defend properly isn't there still.

The amount of times we have the puck on our stick in the dzone and flat out turn it over is infuriating. Just poor puck management and bad decision making.

I mean, hes not totally wrong on that aspect. Its just bad decision making and players making low IQ plays. The players need to start being held accountable for being dumb and/or soft with the puck.

A big part of the structure is big east/west passes into space and letting somebody skate into it. It's a very all or nothing kind of scheme. So yeah, maybe the players need to recognize when it's not going to work, but there needs to be alternative options taught to the players.
