Carol Schram: Canucks return home after a pair of wins; World Junior prospect update Finishing up their latest road trip with much-needed wins in Montreal and Ottawa, the Vancouver Canucks now settle back into Rogers Arena for most of December, starting with a visit from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

Thanks Carol - even small victories are still victories. Practice does not equal perfection, perfection is an unrealistic goal, however, it does bring improvement - under a different system. You can always improve on your best.

Hopefully few more losses can bring in a new coach and much improved systems to go along with it.

Thanks Carol!!

I like your point about the potential volatility in standings due to COVID shutting down players.

So does Schenn stay with Hughes or does Hamonic draw back in now that the team is back home?

I think you have to keep Schenn there for now. He's on fire.

Just a gut feeling, but I think Hamonic might be working his way into the doghouse.

Canucks are pretty practiced at losing with Green and JB – almost perfect, but thankfully not the best at being the worst

Benning must have the worst record for general managers in Canucks history. Wins / Losses and maybe winning percentage? At least for any GM who’s been at the helm for 200+ games.

Going to be a tough stretch:

Pit
LA
Bos
Win
Car
Columbus
@SJ
Tor
Ariz
@SJ

5 must win games in there. Hopefully some of these teams take the Canucks lightly and don’t play their best game.

I imagine Green wants to get Hamonic into a couple practices before playing again - plus 2 game win streak, don’t really want to mess with that.

I'll be at the World Juniors in Edmonton so I'm hoping to see a Van prospect or 2, unfortunately Russia and the US are playing in Red Deer for the round robin, so I'll only get to see them if they draw into the playoff games we got

With Pettersson now the 3rd line C, I wonder what a 4th line of:

Motte-D!ckinson-Lockwood would be like?

Pearson-Horvat-Garland
Podkolzin-Miller-Boeser
Dowling-Pettersson-Höglander
Motte-Richardinson-Lockwood

Hughes-Schenn
OEL-Myers
Hamonic-Poolman

Lammikko, Chaisson, Burroghs.

Two game win streak . The team can't even tank properly

Pick a side and go hard after it . Don't do it half assed . Go hard after winning or go hard after losing. Trying for middle ground does little good.

Trying to make the playoffs after this terrible start seems sort of useless. This is not a playoff team and the sooner they accept it the higher the draft pick.

Yeah, i don't think that's how professional athletes minds work.

So you are saying Toronto Maple Leafs never intentionally tanked for Auston Matthews and the Sabers and Oilers never tanked for McDavid.

I am sure Arizona assembled this all star line up this year with intentions of winning their first cup ever.

Players may try hard, but if the line up is bad then they can’t help but lose.
