Theo Fox: Jet Blue A summary of the Blackhawks backbreaking 5-1 loss to the Jets that could be (hopefully maybe) the straw that breaks the camel's back as far as monumental changes to the team.

Plus, thoughts on Kirby Dach and Jake Wise.

I'm shocked they're this bad. I didn't think we'd contend this year but I thought they would have played a competitive/entertaining brand of hockey.

Can our young players get back on track after Colliton moves on or have they been ruined?

He should have been fired after the loss against Detroit. Now it's too late.

The season is over. Better luck next year with new coach.

I would guess that Kane and Toews are the leaders on that team and Colliton doesn't have the authority to challenge their lazy play which spreads throughout the team. Has been the problem from the start. Horrible work ethic culture.

They are shocked that they're this bad. It is the Chicago Zombies out there. They are OK for most of the game but have several lapses each game where the puck ends up in the back of their net.

Posted late on the last thread that it seems Boudreau might well be part of the shakeup that is coming. If he is the new coach, hope he can strike the right chords to get them back to competitiveness.

There is a lot of talent out there, I think a new tone might get them back on track whether it is Boudreau or someone else. A veteran coach should be able to right the ship.

Thanks Theo for the recap, you are saying what we are thinking. Changes are coming; better times ahead (or is it the beer talking?).

It’s not a talent issue, that’s for certain.

To be THIS bad? You’ve gotta be joking me. I mean we’re not gonna win a championship with this roster but we should at least be average and consistently competitive.

This isn’t even 100% a JC issue, though he isn’t helping and DEFINITELY needs to go ASAP.

It’s a locker room/leadership issue. And the overall culture. It’s garbage. And there’s a young, clueless head coach trying to get this broken group of players to perform. Not gonna happen.

Need a new GM. Then a new coach. Then and only then will the LONG road to recovery begin.

Is is and has 100% been Bowman's last failure in hiring this inexperienced guy and ultimately JC's failure as a coach - this is the look of bad coaching

Players that won big time in this league and for this team called it out right away. And "fans" called those winners out as being jerks/selfish/etc.

Players know and when they see it

The players tried saying the right thing - but when you know, you know.

Those continuing to still think it's the players then or now - are hanging onto not wanting to be wrong on Colliton

But this is the result of 3 years of this guy. Even new players - all with good character- step on the ice and immediately look like garbage and are labeled "terrible, quitters, no hearts, etc".

Only thing that "changed" 9n their careers is this coach - yet some remain all in or "half in" on thinking it's the players.

Keep clawing and hanging onto that rather than admit it's the coach. 100%.

If people are unable to identify Colliton NOW as a horrible coach that is in way over his head - I do not that said person would know a good/bad coach ever.

It was immediately that this was and is a problem. The Hawks stubbornness and probably finances are keeping him on the Bench. Much like those Bears.

Locker room "leadership" problem?

Toews and Jones - Captains and high praise entire career

Fleury, Johnson, Kane...hiw long of a career and winner have they played with? But now at this stage of their careers....they hang up the leadership.

McCabe and Murphy- again, consistent A's or C's. Every level

That's 1/3 of the roster that all are vets. All respected leaders whole careers....but now decide to not be one.

Please. Go show me Colliton playing and coaching leadership and winning history that he deserves ANY benefit of the doubt over these guys here when it comes to leadership and/or coaching.

Is it his discipline, his structure, bench management and/or ability to lead/a team - when they are down/losing/NEED answers?

Which one of these things has JC excelled and/or improved on?

There is a helluva lot more. But start there.

He has completely destroyed player value for trade too.

Several guys on this team should be sold off - with value - that his slotting/benching has made useless

You want to trade Strome? You play him top 9 minimum with offensive players to show team he can play

Should have played every pre season game and made to "look for a big season" - then dump him to a team in a "numbers game" excuse.

Jc plays him at wing for the last 2 years. Minimum/no PP (and the only thing he can do is create offensively).

Gaudette isn't/should never kill penalties. Only thing he could possibly bring is offense. Thought that may have been why signed. Can't even crack the top 9 or sniff a PP over Carpenter - on a team that can't score.

Strome, Kubalik, DeHaan, Fleury, Gaudette Carpenter...are all guys that could be moved now or at the TDL if they were slotted correctly

Hell some team may want Johnson if the Hawks ate a contract coming back or money based on his 3rd line Cup winning versatility in TB

None are worth crap

Let's try this practice for those that still aren't getting it.

Why exactly are Gaudette and Strome on this team? As in what role capacity could they possibly play?

Scoring, right?

I mean - if they are playing a fast/gifted offensive team, you don't think you want them in for either speed/pace or if you need some good defensive matchups. I think that's a basic given.

Fair? We all nod.

If you needed to get a bit physical with a forecheck. Pressure some D hard, maybe team is playing bad and you want some grit/battlers- those 2 really don't come to mind.

Fair? I think so.

They can/should pretty much be used in a "need offense, break glass". About the only thing they can do is show the ability to score in the NHL level

Yet, placed in the lineup....where and how are they played?

What is it going to take get Colliton fired? Maybe losing to Arizona next week? What is Danny and/or Kyle waiting for? Firing coach doesn´t solve all the problems but it would be a good start.

Bruce Boudreau to the rescue. Book it.

He will bring humour for the media, a distraction to the Kyle Beach issue, jokes about his bald head and furnace face when he gets ticked off. (And getting ticked off will start 10 seconds into the first shift of the first game).

How is it that no one has had an interview or even a Twitter comment on their impression of the new Blackhawks interim GM?

Is he allowed to make trades? Des he need permission from Rocky on ..
Whatever? This team could really use the opposite of the shy withdrawn type this GM so far represented. Even overall some verbiage would be welcomed.

The team needs a firm voice in the GM and coach.

December 1st is my deadline for
- New GM
- Exit for JC

Allows 2 months to evaluate for the Trade deadline & time to prepare for the draft plus the search for a new head coach.

Time to roll up the sleeves & get moving. This season is a wash - it's time.

I don ‘t want Davidson to do anything. What is his experience? Working for the Hawks for 10 years, under the tuteledge of Bowman. I want fresh eyes, like the Wild did with Guerin, who had the nuts to buy out Parise and Suter after looking at the organization, and a very good up and coming coach.

Danny needs to get fresh eyes as a GM, change the whole front office, head scouting, player development, etc.

The sooner he finds the GM the better. Don’t you think the other 31 teams are salivating at taking advantage of this intern in any kind of trade? Not that ther are very many tradeable assets as their is.

Not at all and mostly agree. Doesn't change the fact that no matter where Colliton misplaces Strome he can't win a board battle.

This!

I've heard Davidson and Bowman weren't necessarily in agreement on everything but I'd still rather he be in more of an administrative position with a new GM, Team Prez, scouting, etc.

You can blow up the team on the ice but I'd rather they restructure the FO and GM before making those decisions.

This team may have made the playoffs playing to their potential but they weren't competing for a Cup. Getting rid of the coach might stop the bleeding but given everything going on I would prefer they go back to an actual rebuilding mode with a GM from outside the Org making decisions on which if any players they might rebuild around.

Hagel. Entwistle. But yes you need more than a few of your bottom 6 guys competing for pucks.
