The Sharks have been surprisingly successful playing with passion and urgency something that the Habs clearly lacked. The way the Habs are playing now may make even the Yotes look good. It’s early but you gotta give the Sharks credit for getting the job done early. Can they sustain it? Probably not.

"Through the first two games" is all you need to know. WAY too early to draw any conclusions. Let's talk when/if they are in top 3 in their division after 10-15 games.

Regardless of their record over the course of the season - this is exactly what I was hoping to see. A team that is engaged. Playing for each other. Players not coasting and looking disinterested.

They look like a potential playoff team but given they're not playing the Avs and Knights 300 times each their odds of making the playoffs were already improved from last season.

But yeah, record wise. Too early and against two struggling teams. I'm looking forward to facing the Avs in early/mid November to really see how they measure up and how they compete. I expect a loss, but really hoping they make it competitive and don't get curb stomped. (And crazy they don't play the Knights until March - so weird after last season.)

Totally agree that its way too soon to see what the team really is. Do have to say I didn't expect to see them play this well in any of the games. Something I saw and liked that was very different was historically the sharks would get ahead and then let off the gas. There was a slight let up but then the pressure was back on and that one thing there was something that killed the Sharks in the past.
