Keefe has nothing to do with who the prospects are. He also doesn’t get the final say on who gets dropped from the leafs lineup as he mentioned about Adam Brook, putting him on waivers wasn’t his call.
You don’t like him, I get it, please remember tho he doesn’t have a say in everything and this is his first full season as their coach

It was nice to get a break from the meltdowns in here and go read the comments on the last Habs blog to see another fan base completely losing their poop - a team that went to the finals last year I might add.
I don't care what anyone says Habs fans are just as bad as Leaf fans........poor Scabeh in there trying to be the lone voice of reason in a sea of red hot anger and insanity!

from last thread:
Since I haven't been perfectly serious in this thread, I want to clarify my real position (because I am definitely not an "old time hockey" curmudgeon):
I fully support players expressing themselves and not having to wear a stuffy suit. Fashion rules should absolutely be relaxed to allow for individual expression while also following a reasonable dress code.
I love AM34's sense of style as it allows his personality to show and he obviously takes great pride in his commitment to fashion. I doubt I'd ever wear half the things he does but it's super cool that he's willing to push boundaries. I think it's hilarious when people snort in derision at his sense of style -- as if his private fashion life should be mocked or shows that he lacks gud pro hockey sensibilities.

if you want to make hundreds of thousands of dollars, all the way up to tens of millions per year, you should be willing to suit up or figure out a different way to support your family
oh, you should also become an expert in your field

None that I can think of, too end picks get moved at the deadline routinely to help gain talented experience going into the post season.
Altho the next draft (2022) the leafs only have their first and second and nothing else. I’m curious if they’ll still sell them off while hoping for a little more talent or they’re covering a serious injury

Let's stack some wood on the fire:
Top-10 prospects 2016
Now this is the where the prospects in the pipeline make the jump to the NHL - Matthews, Nylander, Marner, Zaitsev, Kapanen, Brown, Johnsson, Dermott and Hyman are all NHL worthy players and will be on the team in the next 2 years. Lou is the GM, Babcock is the coach. This was the year the Leafs decided the rebuild was over because they had surprising success. These were (roughly speaking) our top prospects in 2016:
This is the year when Dubas took over - in May 2018. The year he drafted Sandin in the 1st round, adding Durzi and Der-Arguchintsev in this draft (neither of whom will likely be impactful in the NHL, even with Durzi having been moved in the Muzzin trade).
Liljegren
Johnsson
Grundstrom
Sandin
Bracco
Durzi
Timashov
Woll
Engvall
Moore
Skipping 2019 & 20 because the prospect pool doesn't shift too much - Timashov makes it but doesn't, Engvall graduates but a lot of fans think he actually failed, Bracco, it turns out, isn't a part of a bigger deal, and isn't a big deal at all. Johnsson was moved for cap space, and perhaps we have to point out that Max might have been right about him (although he's at an 82pt pace so far this year!). Along the way we draft maybe 17 guys who all have a shot at the NHL someday, but realistically most won't get there.
As much as this pool isn't 2016, you don't get 2016 without sucking badly for several years and drafting decently for at least a few of them. The above prospect pool is probably deeper than 2017's pool was, and it's built during a time of regular season success.

My guess is they don't want to spend so much time getting ready to go to the rink or making sure their suits are in good condition.
A lot of suits you can't machine wash. So you have to take them to the dry cleaners/need to make sure they don't wrinkle etc. I imagine it's a chore they would prefer to go without.
It is OK not to demand a hockey player wear a suit and tie everytime they are in public. (Especially when the vast majority of their interviews are done before/during/after the game when they aren't wearing the damn suit in the first place)

Another log for the fire:
On teams that aren't legit contenders, some of these guys (e.g, Lilybust, Sandin) would have been on NHL clubs much sooner than now.
As an aside, how the hell did the model in this video not become a big deal?!
