It was really nice to Zucker rewarded with a goal. He had a great Florida trip but had little to show for it.

I saw a familiar face last night First Shot Fleury and Four Goal Fleury showed up and they showed up again together in the same game and same period. MAF again showed why he was shipped out again. He is one of those guys who greatly took advantage of the teams he played for. Stacked teams who hid his shortcomings He cannot be trusted period.
He will go down as one of the all time greats but he was given great players to play behind. King Henrik of whom I am not a fan did not have the luxury He played for bad teams and never won anything but a gold medal or two in international play
Just imagine for a minute if MAF was in NY and Henrik was in Pittsburgh How many cups could the Pens have won with a goalie that could be trusted Makes you go HMMMMMM

I think Letang had several years left in him, but not as a dominant top pairing defenseman. He'll either be a sub par top pair or a good 2nd pair. Mother Nature always wins.

The question is, are the Pens prepared for it?

Pettersson and Marino both played more than Dumo last night. They also crushed it last night too. I wouldn't be shocked to see Sully continue to lean on that pairing at 5v5.

It’s weird how you try to paint a bad picture of Letang without talking about how bad Dumoulin is.

The eye test doesn’t lie. Never change RW.

No. They have no replacement. Sure isn't Matheson or Marino. It would be nice if the burden could be shared by those other two. Tanger has 3 or 4 years left. Hopefully they can get him at a reasonable price.

Really the only goal that you can put on Fleury was the very familiar botched attempt at playing the puck, even on that one there was a huge breakdown in communication between the hawks d men. First was a lucky bounce. McGinns was a text book 2-1 executed perfectly by the pens, 43’s was a nice shot but also a lucky one with Carter standing right in Fleury’s face. The pens we’re definitely the better team but as soon as things settled down and Chicago picked up the hitting things evened out quite a bit. Serious question? Are the Pens players coached to forecheck by way of slapping sticks at the puck? I was sitting behind the to the right of the visiting net about 15 ft above ice level and didn’t hear the boards once.

Nothing scares me more than Tanger alone at the point with the puck.

On the PP this year he has tried to pass it through a defender a couple times and failed. It hasn’t burned him yet but just a matter of time.

His decision making needs to be more on the safe side. He no longer has youth on his side to make up for his bad decisions.

That’s just Tanger. I’ll take his go big or go home style anyway.

I mentioned last night they had passed up several big hits to puck chase and stick wave.

If you can pick off a pass that’s great but it drives me nuts when the player that should’ve been bodied creates something after a flyby.

That’s just it, it’s not go big. He’s not really trying to beat the guy 1 v 1. He’s trying stationary high risk passes into an on rushing defender when a safer play exists.

I love Fluery.
I saw a goalie have a bad game. Happens to every goalie.

Would still love to have him on the Pens.

POJ got sent down. Not sure if that means MM is ready to return or they just wanted him to play for WBS tonight.

I think I summed up what actually happened better than your dribble. You don’t understand or know anything about hockey, your probably sitting in a chair with sweatpants a “Big Ben” jersey with 1000 generic hot wings right now in all your glory because you think your blame the goalie elementary thought process has been proven right. It hasn’t and you’re a moron. I love Fleury.

I responded to your post claiming Canadians had no respect for MAF in the last blog's comments.

Love maf and I think the hank vs maf narrative is wrong. Fleury was a great goaltender and I think if he played on a defence first team he would have had all kinds of Vézina seasons. But hey 3 stanley cups is alright too.

You might love MAF but the whole country of Canada never trusted or loved him
Ask yourself why was he never chosen to be the goalie for Team Canada Answer you fool is they NEVER trusted him and NEVER will. Not a Steeler fan either That insults my intelligence. I attended the first Pens game every in 1967 I forgot more about hockey than to stupid arse will ever know

Back up for two of them And if you look back at the gaffes in the playoffs this team should have had more cups In some of those series he looked pathetic
Then Matt Murray comes along without the pedigree of MAF and shows him how to win cups. It really makes you think. I would take Henrik over MAF any day of the week and twice on Sunday Henrik did not play for a lot of quality teams in NY but Sweden trusted and loved him Learn a little bit before you shoot off your mouth

Who else would Sweden choose as a goaltender, Tommy Salo? Even if Hank sucked he’d still be their guy. Why don’t you compare canadian players to team latvia for your next relevant argument.
