Far better for him to be a top pairing d-man for the marlies than be sitting in a suit watching games all the time as well.

It’s also a team that considers themselves cup contenders which means don’t expect many rookies playing in the lineup

We certainly haven't done this with Lilljgren. It's his 5th year, job wide open, and he can't take it.

I can see Mikheyev being dealt for picks or prospects, and the leafs keeping Semyonov, whom is 800k cheaper on the cap. And might be as good, or better, semyonov looked good on the PK.

Maybe he is dealt before opening night.

There really wasn't a job for him as I believe management had there minds made up already prior to camp who would be there top 6 d-men.

He'll be the first to be called if a d-man is required.

Even tho you continue to ignore me they don’t have the cap space for a 7th d man and they’d rather have him playing top pairing minutes anyways.

Believe me if they could afford a 7th d man it wouldn’t be him, they don’t want a top end 22 year old player sitting most of the season

They like him, and they’re propping his known value up before they send him back to the marlies so people don’t think it’s because he sucks (because he doesn’t)

He was also playing top pairing minutes with Sandin on the Marlies so we could potentially that pairing with the big club at some point.
