Watched the Vancouver game, now watching a bit of the Boston/Philly game; LOTS of heavy hitting. Svech got a Game at the end of the VAN game on NHL Network.....Kids trying to make an impression makes it hard to establish a flow and increases the chances of some less-than-savoury hits. Hoping The Wings bring a stronger game than yesterday....

If you are out-of-market (like me, I'm in VA this week....), you can watch on ESPN+......

For sure. Every year there’s a few of them. Guys trying for 4th line/hitting line jobs

Wings look like absolute crap in the first half of the first period. Can't even get the puck out of their own end. Hawks brought all their best players to Detroit... they didn't like that loss they took in Chicago apparently. This could be a long night for the Wings' goalies.

I had to turn the sound off. Headaches are bad enough, the commentary not helping this train wreck. Larkin obliterated Detroit’s first decent rush with a drop pass right to Kane. This is the team we will see at times this year.

where's the puke emoji????????????

Mo Sides seems a bit overwhelmed. Suter's solid. Raymond's all over the place, broke up a few entrances/chances, some really nice passes. Kid's got game. Sebrango/Newpower are simply out-matched & the penalties show it.

Wings are just holding on and trying not to get embarrassed at this point. Let's hope they can at least get some shots off 5-on-5 in the 2nd & 3rd. I really don't want to see a shutout against the Blackhawks. I do miss that heated rivalry... probably the worst thing about the realignment was not having Chicago in their division / conference anymore. Don't have much hope for this game... as Blashill simply is not good at making adjustments to win games... man do I miss Scotty Bowman.

At some point you might need to acknowledge that Berggren is made of glass and not cut out for the NHL. He can make a decent living racking up points in the Swiss league. Nothing wrong with that.

Raymond looks 100% NHL ready. Is it worth burning a contract year, not at all. Tough spot for Stevie.

The 2d was MUCH better. Fabbri's really looking good, missed him last year, may be a decent back-fill for Vrana. PP was great (comparatively speaking), Raymond just seems to make things happen. Mo Sides with 2pts in the period, seemed a bit more at ease in the 2d. Much better overall!!

I'll admit I was part of the keep Raymond in the minors to get used to NA ice camp, but he's proving a lot of us wrong. Chances seem to pile up every time he's on the ice.

I hope that’s not the case, but it very well could shake out that way. I don’t think he was “ready” for last night. Sometimes they just don’t let players heal properly. There’s no way he can handle the NHL right now. Hope he can get healthy for an AHL run.

For sure, on your final point. An engineer I worked with had a friend who played in Europe. He’d send home around 10K a month (apparently the most you can send?) and built his retirement that way. If you can make a living like that, that’s pretty cool. 15 fewer feet and a lot faster/stronger players make it tough in N.A. For some guys.

Got the Disney bundle to keep the kids happy. Plus note, if the season gets that bad I can cancel at anytime.

He just looks like he’s been there. Even if a shift goes wrong, he’s at the bench talking to Tanguay or his linemates. This kid is special. I love his passing and how he carries the puck.

Same. Don’t have kids, but I binge watched “The Mandalorian”. I’m a nerd, I own it. My wife was excited that “Free Solo” is on the demand list of movies.

Yeah, he's really something. May not be a bad call to send him to GR, really. VERY hard to call it. Do you jeopardize his psyche if things go south AND burn the 1st year of his EC......very rough spot to be in. BUT, good things seem to happen when he's on the ice.

If he looks lost for 5 games send him down and call him back up at the end of the year for 4. If he looks like he belongs, burn it and keep him happy. This also shows kids the old regime is gone and being sent down isn't a guarantee.
