Risto was traded to Philly.....I suppose you meant Ruotsalainen in your last line.
Nice to hear of the newfound scoring prowless of the Wings.
Sieder was not really mentioned but played 21:18 TOI, he must have been fine.

Yeah, my freaking spell check corrected me again. Seider looked good. He made some nice plays for sure. Leddy is a good pairing

Ok, watching the game on my phone as I help set up for “Ok To Beeah Fest” is probably NOT the way to watch the game. But I did it anyway!!!

Suter was a great get. Raymond looked really good. Real. Lee. Good. Mo Sides was ok. You’re right, the pairing with Leddy is rock solid. Nick played well. Newpower was physical. Veleno seems like he’s finding his game a but more. Zadina is really impressive; he’s much more physical than he was even last year. He’s a guy you want; may bot net 40G, but does the work to be a more rounded player. Reminds me of this kid….what the heck was name?!?!? Laserman? Blyzmehan?? YZERMAN!!! yeah, changed his game to be a better fot for the team. Not saying he’s as good, so don’t gitcher underoos all balled-up. Simply stating that he’s a player who will do what the team needs. Impressive.
WITKOWSKI!!! Always liked that guy, even when he was with TB. Great dude, funny, relaxed, gritty. And can chip in 1 or 2.

The PP was un impressive. May be the new system not taking hold or the guys need more reps. Better than the other night, but still a long way to go. PK was working well.

Here’s the issue: BRATTSTROM! He’s smooth as molasses. This guy….I felt my groin snap when he made that pad save. He’s really going to be special. Give him time in GR, let him grab 9 at the end of the season. Greiss will have a year left, is that too much time for Bratt or not? Interesting situation, if he continues to play the way he has been.

Good game, overall. Lots of good points. Few areas of concern, but a cery good game.

Wasn't able to watch tonight, thanks for including the goal videos here. Still pretty disappointed with the Vrana news, not really how I wanted this year to start.

I’m very confused. Why was there a shootout on a game that ended 6-2?

Witter's ONLY NHL goal, (at the time, he has a total of 2) and it was a beauty!

I feel for Buffalo. Their goaltending needs a serious upgrade and it looks as though Quinn needs many more reps in the minors, among other disappointments. Cozens and Thomson about their only bright spots.
Whereas I have been rather impressed with the development of the Yser-picks and Yser-signings for the Wings in pre-season play. The jury is still out as to whether Ned is a solution in goal, though. We may not have to go out and add a guy for Vrana's absence, and play the kids instead. But it is still too early to tell for that.
The Wings won't be that far from the Sabers in the standings, but they are a better team than last year. And our 3 main forwards have not played yet in pre-season. Larkin, Bert and of course Vrana....I know it is ONLY pre-season, but it gives our fan base some validation that the team is going in the right direction.

Nothing more hilarious than listening to the detroit announcers casting stones in their glass house.

The feed for the game was nice to have but the music and crap that would cut the gameplay was annoying as hell. Better than nothing i guess.

Suter did look good and i am one that is skeptical of him being a 2nd line center. Still early with only one pre-season game but he is an upgrade on Nielsen/Filppula so far. Still think to be contenders for a cup they will need someone to bump Larkin down to 2nd line and Suter to 3rd line.

I like the PP more (system) since they are not doing that stupid drop pass every single time. Once they get the top units from team A & B together and practice/get use to the system and new players, it should be better (kind of hard to be worst tbh).

I did like what i saw from Veleno, Raymond, Seider and Brattstrom. Seider looks like he is getting better every game i see him and Raymond is making a case so far that he might be able to stick with the team or at least be one of the first called up for injuries.

Greiss and Ned were beat 5 hole (Greiss a couple of times) but it is very early still and i expect them to get better as cuts are made and the team in front of them gets better. Brattstrom looks like he might actually challenge Pickard not only for playing time in GR but as an injury replacement for the Wings.

He isn't wrong about Quinn. Barely even noticed he was playing in the game. Asplund, Ruotsalainen and Peterka were way more noticeable than Quinn. Did notice Cozens a lot and Thompson (for his size). Hagg did stand out for his physical play too.

Oh my gosh, the mix was brutal. It was like the arena mix was having a turf war with the radio broadcast. I call it a “bucket mix”. There was an episode of Bob’s Burgers where he and Linda went on a wine tasting train ride. Bob got into a “taste off” with a wine snob. The all or nothing glass turned out to be from the spit bucket.

No worries at all. Yeah, not even close to “ideal” with Vrana. I’m hoping it was something that’s truly fixable (maybe some bone spurs they didn’t know he had or something like that).

Quinn is clearly in need of additional AHL time, where as he had no place being last year. He's our Zadina, if you will. But the 'bright spots' certainly include more than Cozens, and Thompson at this point is, what will be worth in two years when he's no longer welcome here. The guy doesn't have the IQ. Like giving a horse a super computer.

Even my GF heard that music and was like WTF Seemed like whoever produced that broadcast had never done it before and has very bad taste in music.

I wouldn't write Quinn off. Might take him longer to find his game at the pro level. His numbers in the AHL last season weren't bad (well his +/- was but that doesn't tell the entire story). Would i have drafted Quinn if i was in that position?...no. Hell i wanted the Wings to draft Rossi not Raymond at 4th overall. I probably would have drafted any of the 4 (Rossi, Perfetti, Askarov and Lundell) that were drafted after Quinn if i was the Buffalo GM but that's just me. I would have jumped on Rossi no doubt for sure.

I am so impressed with him. All of a sudden the number 23 looks awfully good on that sweater. Wherever he starts (please be the NHL…) he darn well better get a bobble head.

It kept shutting down the broadcast too. I think I missed 2 goals due to the weird editing. Still, so much fun

Gotta love hearing crackhead McCarty talk about bertuzzi “letting his teammates down” our country really became a (frank)ing joke over a flu with 99.77% survival rate..
